The bright lights scattered around the room as Poison by Martin Garrix blasted. She danced her heart out, with no care in the world. Her head clouded with alcohol, she took another gulp of her drink to find it empty. She bounced her way to the bar and winked to the bartender as he made his way to her. “Vodka tonic please!” She yelled through the blasting music. He winked back. She leaned her back against the bar, elbows on the table, as she watched the crowd jumping up and down to the beat of the music. A body suddenly was standing in front of her. A rather muscular body at that. She didn’t care to look up at the man, and turned around to face the bar. She felt the warmth of his body as he came up behind her.
“Can I buy you a drink?” He asked, and she smirked.
“I’ve already bought a drink.” As if on cue, the bartender slid her the vodka tonic she ordered. “Thanks though.” She walked away before he could protest. Walking back to the dancefloor she gulped her drink down as she swayed her hips to Naughty Girl by Beyonce. She slammed her glass on the nearest table and took her hands and placed them on her hips. Her hands slowly made their way up to her hair and lifted her hair slightly to only drop it right after. She continued to make her way to the dancefloor and continued to dance extremely provocatively. The way she swayed her hips caused heads to turn. Men’s heads’. She took the drink from the guy walking up to her and downed it. She held his hips and danced around him, heading to the next guy. She grabbed both drinks he was holding and downed one after the other. She swayed around him and grabbed his muscular ass as she walked away. She headed to the bar once again. She ordered a round of shots just as one of the men she took drinks from came up to her. Just as he was about to say something she put a finger to his lips and downed her shots. When she finished downing her shots, she slid her finger to the man’s chest and opened her palm to push him out of the way. On her way back to the floor, she was stopped by a familiar face. It was him. The one person she did not want to see. The one guy that had caused her to go out and try to drink herself to death. She moved in with her best friend to get away from him. She was hundreds of miles away from him, but he was here? He followed her. She couldn’t face him, so she turned around and tried to bolt, but he grabbed her forearm.
“Gail. Don’t. We need to talk.” He yelled through the noise. She ignored him, still facing the other direction, and tried to yank herself away. “Gail. Please.” She tugged her arm away and turned to him.
She looked him dead in the eyes and said, “Go fuck yourself.” And Gail took off as fast as she could. She ran out the doors to the club, and ran out into the middle of the street. Cars honked and slammed their brakes, but she could care less. Tears streaming down her face, Gail could not concentrate with the alcohol, emotions, and shock clouding her mind. She needed to get away. Away from him. Away from the noise. She needed to go home. She walked over to the cab, whose driver was yelling at her to get out of the way. She got in the cab and told the driver her address. He was hesitant to get back in his cab, but continued anyway.
As the cab pulled up in front of her apartment building, she opened the door and stumbled out. She gave the driver some cash, that she hoped would cover it, and walked towards her building leaving the cab door wide open. Gail made it up the stairs without falling all the way back down, and got to her door. She unlocked her door and threw the door open. She kicked the door closed and made her way to the couch. Gail didn’t bother changing, or showering. She slumped on the couch and called it a night, falling into a deep, drunken slumber.
