Chapter 6: Your Best Friend Can Be Your Enemy
Sometimes, people can be your best friend. They'll be there when you need them. But it's surprising how one moment someone can be your friend and the next.... they can be your enemy.
Sidney had a friend named Jace. He sat at her table, played with her at recess, etc. They even rode the same bus.
One day, Jace said to Sidney on the bus, "Slut. Sitting with a boy." She was only ten and it hurt her.
The next day, Jace and her cousin made fun of her. They called her stupid, and a slut, and they pulled her hair. They called her a gigantic horse and just made fun of her.
She went home in tears. It was the worst day of her life. And they kept making fun of her for the rest of the year.
You would never guess how friends can turn on you until they actually do. And the worst part is not even knowing what you did, let alone do now. It hurts, trust me. It's like a twist in your heart and it never leaves. The pain might but the memory won't. It's easier to remember than to forget.
