Frosted Palace

Chapter 2

The three males sat down on the bleachers, stopping to get brats and pretzels on the way. The lights dimmed down and everyone took their seats.

“The short skate couples shall now begin,” jisung took a huge bite out of his pretzel savouring the exploding sense he got from the clumps of salt poured all over his huge soft pretzel. 

Two skaters glided onto the ice with grace. The two, A black-haired male in a black glittery shirt with black pants and a brunette female in a sheer black dress with sliver peeking through the cutouts on her sides, took their starting positions. The girl held her chest high with her arms surrounding her face her bottom hand near her belly button. The male was behind the female and had his hands out and his legs crossed.

A Familiar intro started playing over the speakers making jisung happily jump in his seat making little noise with his mouth full of a pretzel. He turned to chan and smacked him with glee. The blonde male just sighed and started filling himself with happiness for Disney music. 

“I can show you the world, Shining shimmery splendid,” The two glided over the ice moving towards the edge before the male grabbed his partner by her skate and gracefully glided her to another edge. Jasmine joined in the song as the male let the female take lead pulling him to the middle of the rink as the song built up, jasmine belted out “A Whole New World.”

The male, Minho, lifted the female, Nayeon, up to the air whilst Nayeon held one of her knees up to her chest and the other down with her arms up as if she was flying. Minho soon put her back down and they did a few axels. Then as the song was building up to the end Minho grabbed nayeons skate again and lowered her into a death spiral, they slowly spun themselves back up and did their last stance. 

Jisung jumped up and burst into tears, “Chan! Chan! Did you see that it was so good and they jump so high,” Jisung was jumping up and down at this point, forgetting about his pretzel as it fell to the ground.

“Yes jisung I saw it, they were very good,” Chan messed with jisung’s hair and they continued watching the performance.

After a bunch of other pair skaters the freestyle started, a boy with ebony black hair about 17 glided into position. 

The background song of a piano started following the same rhythm of beats making every single girl (And boy) in the arena excited. Chan suddenly looked up happiness and warmth filled his heart. Just the sound of a homely Disney movie song made chan feel warm and welcomed. Making his black dark exterior bloom with joy.

“The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footstep to be seen”, the boy did one of his six planned quads, he landed the quad perfectly with a toe loop added. It was impressive not many youth skaters can complete a quad with a toe loop. The boy did some more handwork whilst using fancy footwork. 

As the song built up the ebony-haired male did a double axel, he landed as Elsa belted out “have to be, Conceal don’t feel, don’t let them know-” The boy skated as “know” was sang he gradually lifted his dominate leg up. Then the boy grabbed his skate (Of the leg that was up) and lifted up his leg showing off his flexibility, as he started spinning as Elsa sang the second “Know” and the song built up to the main chorus. 

The boy let his leg down and skated side to side while raising his arms and hands gracefully as if he were Elsa himself. As Elsa sang can’t hold it back anymore, the ebony-haired boy brought his hands up to his chest and slammed them down in distrust. 

“It’s funny how some distance Makes everything seem small,” The boy started building up speed to jump into the third quad of his set, leading him into the second half of his set. He landed his quad with grace and ease, the boy smirked to himself while he started skating backwards.
