Owl woke with a start, The space next to her was cold. Sleek was gone. she swallowed a ball of grief for him, "Sleek?" she called breathlessly the words echoed coldly across the valley, she had to go on without the tom, she got to her paws, squeezing her eyes shut for moment then poking at the frozen vole she had  caught last night, she numbly lapped it up, then, she began her journey. Home at last.

She caught her breath as she gazed down from the mountains, she could faintly smell the scent of cats, the wind carried up the scents gingerly, she had no choice, she would have to return to her former home. Sleeks face slashed the back of her mind, yowling at her to return to the silver tom, Owl ignored it, and she began to pad, pushing through the thick cold snow.

The sounds of the forest echoed around, she paused to breathe it in, her heart thumping breathlessly, suddenly strange scents surrounded her, she open her eyes, rogues. She was sure, her  heart twisted in fear, "Well, well boys, look. A toy..." The voice sneered from a brown tom, "
"Yes, Yes she will fit in quite well." the tom marveled, she bared her teeth, forcing a hiss out, trying to hide her fear, the tom gave a dismissive flick of his tail, "kill her." suddenly a silver flash darkened her vision, "Leave. Now, we don't want any trouble." Sleeks voice made her cower in relief, "Sleek?" she whispered gently, the tom pale blue eyes blinked at her for a second, The brown tom looked hesitant, his two companions  shared the same unsure look, The brown toms face twisted, all of Hawks training came back at her in a rush of thought, she unsheathed her claws, Sleek dooing the same, "No cat ever wants any trouble, we outnumber you, three to one, so I suggest you leave." the brown tomk sneered, Sleek stiffened beside her, "When I say run, we run as if a million badgers are at our tails" he murmured so she could hear, "Actually..." the brown toms eyes gleamed, triumph in stance from the seconds of hesitance his new prey had shared, "Run! Owl Run!" he screeched,  the two cats raced away, faster and faster, their claws clicking against the hard stone, each apaw thundering rapidly against the stone.
