"Does it hurt?" Yuily asked. Looking up with confusion you furrowed your eyebrows.
"Does what hurt?"
"Your leg!" The boy pointed to your limb. A giggle escaped your lips.
"Kind of!"
"What happened to it?"
"I don't really know....your mommy said I've had a 'limp' since I could walk."
_____
"RUN (Y/N)!"
"But, Mikhail-"
"Don't argue with me, just run. Okay?"
Hot tears stinging your eyes you ran. Harder than you ever did before. Your limp didn't make it easy, tripping at every tree branch and pebble that made its way to your path.
"AUGH!" You tripped over a rock.
"Haha," A horrifying laugh filled your ears. "So this is the tiny human the Sirius yelled at to run. I bet their blood is delicious."
"Don't hog it all you bastard." Another voice joined in. "It's a child's blood, do you not realize how tasty that is?"
Attempting to crawl away you felt a strong hand grab your ankle and pull you backwards. Letting out a scream, you began to kick at it.
"Ow! Son of a bitch, you brat!"
"Did that child seriously hurt you Mercedes?"
"It gave me a bruise."
"Oh you poor baby," The voice of the other being said sarcastically. "Want me to kiss it-"
Out of nowhere, the sound of a gunshot rang through the area. The smell of iron was disgustingly filling the air. Your ears were ringing so much you couldn't hear anything else. Two voices could be heard, but they were muffled.
"Fucking vampires." A voice spat out. "They were targeting a child, the nasty bastards."
"A child? Where?!"
"Right there," With the moonlight giving the area brightness you could see the shadows of a man and a woman. The man has his finger pointed in your direction.
"Oh, God." The woman exclaimed, running to you. "Oh sweetie are you o-"
You immediately tried shuffling in a different direction. Eyes as wise as saucers, you started crying again.
"They're petrified, Diane." The man said. "I don't know if they'll respond."
The woman named Diane looked back at the man and then to you. "The poor thing. The vampires must have attacked their village."
"That's most likely the case." The man gruffed. He began to approach the two of you, your body began to visibly shake. In the light you saw he had a beard, long and scruffy. His eyes were a pretty green, and they held kindness.
"We're not going to hurt you," Diane told you, holding out her hand slowly she mustered a smile. It wasn't fake. Her brown eyes sparkled in the moonlight.
The image of Yuliy's mother came into your mind, the shaking started to cease.
"That's better." She said, watching as you slowly crawled to her. The pain in your leg throbbed making you let out a cry.
"Are you injured?" Diane cried out. The man approached your form rather quickly, observing your leg once he crouched down to your level.
"No broken bones, but there's a hand print."
"Sweetheart, what's your name?" Diane asked. The man sighed.
"Diane.."
"What? We have to try."
Silence.
"...See, they won't budge-"
"(Y-Y/n)..." You muttered.
"Huh?"
"That's...That's my name."
