Chapter 4: Summer Vacation, Here I Come!

It's finally 3:00pm. I get on to the packed school bus and see there are no seats left. "Well that's just perfect, just when I was going to relax," I mumble to myself and hang on to a hook on the bus so that I don't fall over while I stare at my phone.

Once I reach my stop, I squeeze past all the people and farewell to my friends before I step out of the bus and begin the short walk home.

I turn in to my street and a car drives past. It's dad, arriving early from work. He gestures for me to get in the car and I do. He opens the boot for me to put my bag in, and I hop in the front seat saying hi while giving him a peck on the cheek. "How was work," I ask. "Alright, same old thing everyday, never get's old," he says. That's ok though, how was your last day of school my little angel?" he asks. "It was ok, we didn't do much work cause it was the last day, but I am just so relieved it's home time and I have holidays for 6 whole weeks and I get to go overseas!" I say with excitement in my voice "Your growing up too fast. No more time for your old man any more now, do you?" He says. I immediately begin to feel guilty "of course not dad, I'm still your little angel from when I was 5, nothing's changed. He parks the car and turns off the engine. There is a short silence before I tell him, "I love you dad, nothing, will ever stop me from loving you the way that I do. Your my daddy who has been there for me my whole life, you gave me such memorable experiences and lessons. I am who I am because of you dad. I love you to eternity, and give him a huge kiss on the cheek before hopping out of the car and knocking on the front door waiting for someone to open it. Mum does, "how was school beautiful?" She asks with her dirty hands from cooking because my brothers couldn't be bothered answering the door because they were playing Fortnite or something. "It was good," I say and give her a peck on the cheek before entering the house and heading to my bedroom. I jump on to my bed flick off my shoes and relax for 2 minutes processing the fact that I was free from school and I was about to have the best time of my life. Suddenly my phone vibrates. It's a notification from Instagram saying Lila had posted something on her story. I immediately check, this was big, Lila almost never posted anything on her story. That's when I got the hugest shock of my life. A shock that you would never have thought was possible.....😳
