A/N sorry the chapters are short, I'm trying to make them a bit longer now! Feel free to comment & vote. Let me know what you think :)
The subway station was loud. People rushed all around me. Business men in suits carried briefcases and hurried by me. A woman in a black pencil skirt and matching blazer raised a plucked eyebrow at me as I climbed aboard the subway. It hit me then that with my backpack and black clothes I must have looked like a rebellious teenager running away from home.
"I would have to have a home to run away from it," I thought slightly amused as I crashed onto an empty seat then plopped my backpack on a seat next to it.
Pulling on my hoodie and ignoring the curious gazes burning into the back of my head I instead pulled out my old prepaid phone to call Elle.
" HAPPY GRADUATION!" she squealed immediately. I flinched slightly and moved the phone away from my ears.
"Thanks Elle, i guess hearing isn't important after you graduate," I teased smirking.
"Ha Ha." she scoffs "where you at twinkle twat?"
I giggle at the sound of her old nickname for me. It was absolutely stupid, but that's why I loved it. "I'm on the subway princess piss!" I happily reply.
I see an old lady across from me gasp in indignation then glare disapprovingly.
"I can't wait to see you!" she exclaims. "Do your eyes still do that weird thing where they're brown one day then look greenish sometimes?" she chatters eagerly.
"Last time I checked," I grin.
"Great!" she squeals, "oh my gosh Mark stop!" I hear her giggle playfully.
"Don't worry just wanted to let you know I'm on my way...USE A CONDOM!" I yell obnoxiously before hanging up giggling and leaving her and her boy toy.
The old lady practically falls off her seat and I bite my cheek to resist laughing.
"Better safe than sorry, right?"
I look up quickly and see a guy in his early twenties staring down at me. I hold in a gasp as I take in his dark blue eyes, shaggy black hair and the playful smirk on his lips.
" Definitely," I murmur brilliantly. He lifts my backpack from the seat next to it and takes its place after tossing it at me. For a second I contemplate whether or not I'm fully awake. If yelling inappropriate condom remarks is all it takes to get the attention of guys like this I would have started years ago.
"So, where you headed?" he asks casually running a hand through his hair.
"I don't think I should tell you, aren't you a stranger?" I ask cheekily.
"Hmm, that's true," he shrugs, "but we can always change that," he adds leaning in closer. His blue eyes twinkling mischievously as he sticks out his hand, "Hello, my names Lance, and you are?"
"Skye," I murmur blushing slightly at his proximity.
"Well don't leave me hanging, Skye," he smirks looking down at his outstretched hand.
I quickly shake it rolling my eyes at his formality and smile.
He leans back into his seat and stretches his arm back behind my seat.
"So, now that we are so acquainted where are you running off to?" he asks curiously.
I shrug, "I'm not running away if that's what you think."I answer vaguely.
He scoffs, "oh it's not what I think babe, it's what everyone in this subway thinks."
I frown slightly "Well ever heard of not judging people's appearances?"
