Unchain me

Dead leaves and green leaves
Her body has gone to rest
A soul so pure and zest
Has tragically come to an end
She stood there paralysed
Saw the light slip from her eyes
She used to laugh and giggle here
She held no sorrow, no sense of fear
But now she screams and thrashes
In her disturbing nightmares and flashes
She dreams of deaths and pain
She wakes with sweat and pulsing veins.

She surrounded her heart with walls and thorns
In case the person she'll trust will show their horns
She buried herself in words and books
To distance herself from all the glares and looks
She taught herself to fight and to defend
So no one can treat her like her bitter mother did in the end

So now she walks the halls with a chain and ball
One that brings her down, makes her fall
One of misery and loss, she made and forged
Now she carries a thought to stay hidden, stay tough
Don't cry, don't love, don't talk, don't laugh
Trapped in her own conscious of depression and aggression
Begging to be loved.
Begging to be unchained.
