I was riding my skateboard down the neighborhood road headed towards my house. As soon as I pulled into the driveway, I see a car I've never seen before. It was a green truck. I went inside and to my room. I sat down. I picked up a pencil and started to draw a character that was more on the scary side of things. I heard a knock at the door, so I went downstairs and opened the door. It was my friend, Willow.

"Hey Willow," I said. She looked upset. I noticed she wiped a tear from a bruised cheek. "Again?" I questioned. She nodded faintly. I told her to come in and follow me to my room so she could just calm down. When we got up to my room, I went to grab her a snack from downstairs. I heard another knock. I left the door unanswered and sprinted back upstairs. "Hide!" I whisper-yelled to Willow as her eyes widened. She dove into a laundry hamper and I dumped clothes over her to finish the disguise. I heard the voice of my mom downstairs, conversing with the person who encouraged Willow to hide here. I closed my door and grabbed a book.

As soon as I opened the book, my mom and Willow's dad walked in. "Yes?" I ask. "You seen my girl!?" He demanded. "No sir" I replied. "Don't lie to him, Laurence," My mother sn"aid. "I'm not!" I hissed in my defense. "Okay then" She muttered. They left, I closed my door behind them, and uncovered Willow. "You okay?" I asked. "Yes," she replied with a quake in her voice "I'll get some ice for your face," I said, turning to go get it "Okay," She mumbled. I went downstairs and grabbed the ice pack. I ran back upstairs. "There you go," I hand it to her. "Thanks," She replied, "He got drunk again"She said.

"Okay, well, you can't stay here forever, but you can stay in my tree house," I grinned. "Alright," She grinned back. I smiled at her as she slunk out of the house and in the treehouse.
