Alice Darwin lives in a little Victorian house in Surrey, with her husband and their black Labrador puppy. When she's not making up stories in her shed at the end of the garden, or walking the dog, she is a writer and journalist and has written over twenty original features for the BBC.

Alice worked in a care home before working for the BBC. She was a TV reporter for a while, but when people started to recognise her in the street she realised she would never be able to leave the house without straightening her hair again.

Alice always dreamed of being an author, ever since Mrs Dickinson gave her a gold star for writing when she was ten. That was some time ago, but good things come to those who wait, (or to those who spend years scribbling away and eating chocolate biscuits whilst staring at a laptop.)
