Adela Filch wasn't one to be in the crowd, she watched from the guidelines and never participated in the chases that occurred at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry neither for love, for attention, for lust or even friendship. It just wasn't her.

She was however the type of girl one would find curled up in front of the fireplace reading a book with their hair in a messy bun, their lips chapped from biting them, their eyes red with dark circles under from lack of sleep, ink streaks on their cheeks and hands and that stayed miles and miles away from drama.

Although she didn't cuddle in front of the fireplace of her Hogwarts House, it was in front of her fireplace at home, a hidden cottage inside the walls of the castle of Hogwarts where Adela and her father lived since she was 8 years old, or rather she spent the summers since she was 8 years old.

Being the school's Squib caretaker's daughter wasn't easy because she got bullied relentlessly for it, although it meant she could wander around at night with no problems, and even though she had her shared dorm in her house's tower she always slept at home, where she could have some alone time with the laid back, non-grumpy and attentive Argus Filch.

Adela didn't care that her father was a squib she grew up not using magic and that's how she preferred to live like, sure she knew using magic in her daily tasks had its perks but she also knew that doing it yourself with no magic developed character.

Argus Filch was known to every student since 1968 as the grumpy squib caretaker but he was more than that, after the untimely death of his wife during childbirth he stayed with family-in-law worked a few jobs here and there, but ultimately ended up being fired with lead him to trying to contact the Headmaster at Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, to try and get a job as a caretaker.

He was gladly accepted and although he loved his daughter with all his being, this meant that he would have to leave her in the muggle world, something Argus didn't want but did so after a couple of threats to take Adela from him if he didn't provide. Fortunately the time apart from each other was a short one, lasting only 3 years seeing that on her 11 birthday Adela got her Hogwarts Acceptance Letter.
