The day my little sister was born was the day I realized how powerful love can be. I was never a social child. I never wanted to do anything with anyone until she came around. She has been my responsibility for the past year and my rock since the day she was born. The one thing I never thought I'd do was move back to my mothers home town but when you're eighteen and struggling financially to take care of the person that means the most to you, you really don't get a choice. "I've never even met her Eve." Lilly said shifting uncomfortably as I parked my car in the driveway. I sighed as I unbuckled my seatbelt. "If it makes you feel any better, I've only met her once and I was too young to actually remember it for myself." I shrugged. I got out of the car and tapped the hood. Lilly slowly got out of the car and ran her hand up and down her arm. A nervous habit of hers. "Come on. Help me with our bags." I said popping the trunk. I could fit all of my things into two bags but Lilly on the other hand had six. I made sure Lilly never went without but in doing that I never really paid attention to my needs. Walking up the steps to front door I took In the house's appearance. It definitely was not small but it was old. The front door didn't have a doorbell but a big brass knocker shaped like a.. well I dont know what it's suppose to be. I knocked on the door three times and took a step back. The front porch was nice. The front yard had flowers everywhere and there's a beautiful swing on the porch. When the front door opens I turn my head to face the woman. Right now I am facing the woman that kicked my mother out when she was pregnant with me and who pushed us out the door when my mother came back in desperate need of help. This is the woman that never showed up when she got a call from the hospital that it wasn't looking so good and that her daughter was dying. But yet, this is the woman that begged for me to come live with her after she found out my mother had actually died in that hospital bed. This is my grandmother.
