The Saddest Person

They sat in silence for a moment.

"What?" Kody speaks up first. His face shows two of his rare emotions - surprise, confusion.

"He's like, the happiest person I know. I know he doesn't have a great life, but he doesn't really seem to think about it too much. He just ignores it," Kody's mouth shuts after his little ramble. Merric sighs, knowing Lumine will be back in a few moments. 

"I know. We really shouldn't talk about it-"

"No." Kodys voice leaves no room for argument. "You brought it up, you're going to finish it. I get it if you don't want to talk about certain things because they're particularly private, but you can't ignore this."

Merric stares at him, and Kody stares back. Merric finally sighs and brushes some of his dark hair out of his eyes. "Fine. I'm not going to say much though - most of his story is particularly private. I get that you know him, he lives with you, but he would've told you if he wanted you to know."

Kody nods. Aiden, Sherry and Silver don't protest - surprised at Kody's interest in something, especially Lumine's home life.

"He wasn't always this way. His biological parents didn't exactly want him, and I haven't seen him around in Terranevo since Noel was arrested-" Merric doesnt exactly get far.

"Noel was arrested?" Lumine stands in the doorway, looking heartbroken.

Merric stands in surprise. "Lumine-"

"But he told me-" he takes in a small breath, "I had to leave. Because," tears well in his eyes. He laughes bitterly as they fall.

"Why did you tell them?"
