This is the highest peak in the state. Located in the Baba Budan Giri mountain region, the Mullayanagiri peak rises to an altitude of more than 1900 metres. One such trekking trail begins from Sarpadaari. Apart from nature trails, the mountain presents an opportunity to go mountain biking.

Cubbon Park

Experience greenery inside a bustling city at Cubbon Park. Spread over 300 acres, this park has multiple statues that dot its landscape. There are fountains and libraries here. You can also take a mini-train ride around the park. Inside the park, there are facilities for children's play.

Iruppu Falls

This waterfall is located in the Brahmagiri range. You can reach these falls through a 48 km journey from Virajpet. Also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, Iruppu Falls is surrounded by nature trails.There is a legend attached to these waterfalls. It is said that Lord Rama and Lakshmana passed through this region. They discovered the river here that eventually contributed to the waterfalls. Therefore having a dip in these waters is considered to be a spiritually cleansing act.

Lal Bagh Gardens

These botanical gardens were initially set up under the rule of Tipu Sultan. Of all botanical gardens, the Lal Bagh Gardens is considered the most picturesque. There is a lake within Lal Bagh. A flower show is held here every year showcasing numerous varieties of flowers.

Kudremukh National Park

This wildlife sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to sightseeing, you can do wildlife adventure activities here. The presence of many rivers here creates exotic flora and fauna in this place. In the vicinity are holy shrines. The dense forest is intriguing. See wild animals such as sambhar, chevrotain, and lion tailed macaque. Go on bird watching expeditions to see rare birds in their natural habitat.

Mysore Zoo

The majority of wild animals that are present in the zoo are elephants. There are lions, tigers, zebras and giraffes here as well. The zoo was originally a hunting reserve for the erstwhile Wodeyar rulers. But in the 19th century the zoo was opened to the public.

Spread over 245 acres, the Mysore Zoo is one of the oldest in the country. The zoo houses a variety of wild animals and birds.

Mysore Palace

Also called Amba Vilas, this structure is the centre of attraction when you are in Mysore and is one of the top 10 places to visit in Karnataka. The sprawling palace is richly decorated. The intricate carvings of the ceilings, pillars and arches leave you amazed. The architecture is thrilling to say the least. The palace was the seat of power of the Wodeyars. The history of this palace dates back to the medieval period. A three storeyed structure, the Amba Vilas Palace has pink textured domes made of marble that makes it a romantic palace as well.

Brindavan Gardens

This is a sprawling verdant park lying in the vicinity of the Krishnaraja Sagara Dam. The Cauvery Irrigation Department maintains this garden. Spread over 60 acres, there is a fruit orchard and a couple of horticultural farms here.The main attraction here is the musical fountain. During evenings and on special occasions, the musical fountain erupts into a magical disposition of lights and music. There is also a lake in the premises. Boating is the main activity here.

Bannerghatta National Park

Bannerghatta National Park is one of the interesting places to visit in Bangalore for the assorted wildlife and natural establishments and the rich vegetation. One can hire jeeps and cars or board a bus for touring around this massive national park sprawled across an area of 104.27 sq. km.

The park encompasses a number of establishments such as a pretty butterfly park swarmed with colorful species of butterflies, an aquarium, a Children's park, a zoo, a Crocodile farm, Snake Park, a museum and a Prehistoric Animals' Park which is highly praised by the visitors.
