I know this doesn't make a lot a sense especially in the beginning but I had a double lung infection and had been sick for two weeks at the time I wrote it so you'll have to forgive me.

I own nothing.

Hades though Nico was acting weird. Not that he was overly concerned or anything but Nico had been off since Bianca died. Then he had presented just before going into Tartarus. He had been fine and getting over the loss of Bianca and returning slightly to normal thanks to Hazel.

He wasn't overly happy all the time but he wasn't sad either he was content. At least as much as he could be given the situation.

Once he'd presented his scent was still trying to figure it's self out but took on a vague smell of pomegranates and something else that hadn't become fully apparent yet. He smelled sweet though like most omegas but he had an undertone of something slightly dark, most likely the fact that he was a child of Hades.

After Tartarus he rarely had a smell at all, even then it was barely detectable. Considering the fact that smells changed based on one's emotions, not having one at all was concerning.
Omegas especially always had a strong smell, the only time they didn't was when they were under extreme stress or depressed and they blocked it out but it was still easily detectable.

It was hard to block one's scent but with a lot of practice it was doable. It was easier for betas and difficult for alphas but it was practically impossible for an omega to block their scent.

Only a handful of people had ever completely blocked their scent to the point that it was constantly undetectable and that was mostly betas who worked on infiltration missions.

The fact that when Nico returned he was scentless was equally impressive and worrying. He needed to have a talk with him and try to fix it. He'd been so busy lately with all the dead demigods and people that he'd been expanding the entrances, fixing the infrastructure and boarders as well as finding a way to keep a proper line happening instead of a large mob.

But now that he'd got a recently dead child of Athena to take care of it he had free time.

He decided to go talk to Nico about his current problems. He walked down the hallway to Nico's room and knocked on the large black door.

After hearing a quiet 'come in' he entered. Nico was sitting on his bed polishing his sword.
"What is it you need me to do?" He asked, placing his sword down on the bed.
"Nothing, I wanted to talk to you."
"About what?" He looked surprised.

"Well you've recently you've been through Tartarus and I wanted to know how you were."

He looked shocked at this and just sat there silently. "Do you need anything?" Hades asked.
He shook his head, "no I'm fine."

"Are you sure, you've been off recently."
He gave him a confused look.
"You don't have a scent at all, I know you've presented so you should have one."
"I blocked it in Tartarus so the monsters had a harder time finding me."
"You can unblock it now you know." He looked up at me, slightly scared like he didn't want me to know something.
"I like having it blocked, it's fine don't worry about it."
"Nico, blocking your scent for long periods of time is unhealthy. It throws your hormones out and can make you sick." I told him gently yet sternly so he knew I was serious.

Anger lit his eyes, "I don't want to, just leave it be it's not hurting you."
"Nico, I need you to understand that this is not good for you."
"I DON'T CARE." He looked down at his hands for a second before looking at me again. "I want to block it, I don't want to smell it." Then I saw him dissolve into shadows and disappear. I sensed that he hadn't left the underworld, he'd just gone to a different part of the castle.
