Chapter 1 Hiking Mishap

Hello everyone!! Gal here~
Just wanting to give out a small heads up about this story.
I have it split into four different parts to account for the four main characters mentioned in the description. It will also stay in third-person narrative. There will be many instances of swearing/cussing as well.
If anyone has any suggestions, or requests even, just comment and I'll take them into consideration, or flat out do it if I like it enough.

~Adena~

All Adena heard was silence, absolute stillness. She felt terrified, shivering from the cold, surrounded by darkness though her eyes were wide open, something skittered across the floor around her bare feet.

A loud beeping causes a spasm, and a loud thump onto the wooden floor of her room, the panting breath slowly evening out as she lets out a sigh. The nightmares had gotten worse recently, though this time she realized what she dreamed about was based off something going on around her as she slept.

Her hamster, Peaches, had escaped from the cage again and was running around the room, she'd kicked the covers off during the night and the AC was freezing cold. Adena sat up as she nursed her head slightly, having hit the floor pretty hard, the beeping from the alarm still echoing through the room.

Groaning softly, Adena reached up to the nightstand and turned the alarm off, stopping the headache before it even started. Feeling around for her phone and grabbimg it as she felt it, unlocking it and looking at the notifications.

The first thing she noticed was the alert about it being her birthday, frowning she swiped it off the screen, hoping everyone forgot this year since Adena, for the most part, hated the attention.

The second thing was a text on the group chat between her and her best friends, saying they would be stopping by at one that afternoon to hang out in the backyard.

She had a few hours since it was only ten in the morning. Adena was so happy her birthday fell on a Saturday, shd could have a free day all day, and it was pretty warm for being close to the middle of February.

Getting up off the floor, she sat her phone on the bed and got changed, slipping on jeans and a pale pink shirt, deciding to go on a short hike to get away from everything for a bit.

It had gotten suffocating lately with how close everyone had been around her, it was weird... But since her parents were at work this was a perfect opportunity. She grabbed her phone and her hiking bag, packing some supplies and putting her boots on, before grabbing an apple and heading out the door. Biting into it and holding it in her mouth, she texted on the group chat that she was going on a hike and would check in every 30 minutes like normal and would be back at the house by twelve.

After doing that, she put her phone up and an earbud in, heading to the trails up into the wooded mountains, humming softly to the music in her ear.

~Lev~

Lev woke up extra early that morning and through on a ripped up black shirt with ripped blue jeans. He hummed softly as he texted on the group chat. He puts his headphones on and starts to blare some rock music.
