Silvia was glad no one was home when she got there. She threw her bag on the sofa and headed straight to the kitchen. She opened the refrigerator and took out a juice box. After pulling off the straw, she punctured the juice box and sucked the life out of the box and left the empty box on the dining table.
She went to the living room and made room on the sofa to relax. She decided to space out as usual. Silvia tried forgetting that Valeria and Ricky were in her life, she just imagined her life without them and how it would be like with her real mother. This time she thought of her last birthday and how cool it would have been to celebrate her birthdays with her mom's homemade cake.
She got called back to reality when her phone rang. Silvia brought out her phone and saw the contact ID was Isabela and picked it up.
"Hey!" Isabela said on the other side of the line. "Where are you?"
"At my house," she was biting her nails.
"Why?"
"Because that's where I go to after school, well from tomorrow I'll be going to drama club." Silvia said.
"Why?" Isabela asked again.
"Okay what's with all the questions?" Silvia asked frustrated.
"I was just curious," she said then later added, "wanna go see a movie with me?"
"I'd love to, but I'm grounded, sorry." Silvia sighed.
"What happened this time?" Isabela rolled her eyes.
"It wasn't my fault, it was that witch Valeria." She groaned and rolled her eyes.
"Who is home with you now?"
"No one."
"I'm coming over."
"What about your movie?"
"We could see it some other time," Isabela said then added, "see you soon." Before cutting the call.
After flying as fast as her little wings could take her, far up into the sky, flying through the clouds and escaping the eagles. She got to a gigantic gate and grew back into her normal size. The gate was guarded by fierce looking men with wings of their own, flying around and combing the area.
Corinna flew to the check point and exchanged pleasantries with the guard on duty. She needed not to give him any information or have an eye scan, he let her through immediately.
"No need Corinna," he said through a solid glass. He pushed the button on the wall to his right and the big gates to Skiria opened.
"Thanks Joe." She said and flew right through.
As she flew further away from the big gates, she heard a loud bang as the doors to Skiria shut to any outsiders. There were tree-like houses at the outskirt of Skiria lined up straight from the gates of Skiria. After flying through the houses, above it all one could see a whole city filled with flying creatures, some with wings and without wings. Others were in hover cars and jet bikes. There were skyscrapers and tall buildings.
