One Thing

“Niall! Put me down!” I shrieked, giggling. I felt Niall gently lower me from his arms, and eventually my feet came back in contact with the ground. I could feel the warmth of his breath, tickle my face. We just stood there for a couple of moments, just looking at one another. He raised his hand up to my face and tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

“It’s good to see you, babe,” he said, pulling me in close. I sighed, smiling.

“And it’s good to see you,” I replied, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him in until our lips made contact. God, I had missed that, I thought. It had been four months since Niall and I had seen each other. The boys went on tour to America, and sure, we kept in contact, sure, but it just wasn’t the same.

“I missed you so much,” he said, tracing the feature on my face.

“Not as much as I’ve missed you,” I retorted. Niall’s face lit up into a grin and his laughter filled the air. Damn, I had missed that noise.

“Come with me,” he exclaimed, taking me by the hand and leading me back outside to his car.

“Where are we going?” I asked pretending to act worried; however I couldn’t keep a straight face.

“You’ll find out!” he answered cheekily, kissing me lightly on the cheek. We drove for a couple of minutes, keeping a light conversation about his tour etc. Finally, Niall parked the car opposite to a park. Wait a minute- it wasn’t any park. It was the park where we met.

I remember back when the boys were recording the ‘One Thing’ music video, and the boys tweeted that they would be driving around doing busking and other things. So I went there, along with hundreds of other girls and had some fun with the boys.

It was in Niall’s verse when we made eye contact, and immediately I felt a connection. He slipped his number into my pocket when they had a ten minute break to talk to the fans, and we went out, to Nandos. That was a night to remember.

My thoughts were drawn back at the sight of a picnic. It was beautiful, alight with candle light and rose petals scattered around.

“Holy shit, Niall! This is gorgeous!” I said, whipping around, with a smile planted on my face, to find Niall on one knee. I gasped.

“Babe, it was two years ago this day that we met at this spot,” he started, fumbling around in his pockets, “and from the moment I made eye contact with you, I knew you were something special, and I was right. I know it’s been hard, with the tours and everything, but here goes nothing,” he took a deep breath before going on, opening a small box revelling a ring, “will you marry me?”

I remained silent for a moment, smiling. Niall’s smile started to fade.

“Of course I’ll marry you!” I said, jumping into his arms and kissing him, “I love you so much Niall Horan!”

“And I love you so much Mrs Horan!” I smiled into his mouth. We both laughed.
