It was an early September morning, yet Rachel had already been awake for several hours. Between helping her son get ready for school, and making her spouse lunch for their work day, Rachel was late getting to her office for work that morning, which was surprising, seeing as her office was in her own home.
Her office wasn't to 'professional' as most would call it, but to her, it was her fortress of solitude. The room was warm and conforting, with a small functional fireplace to keep the room warm in the winter. A small desk and a comfy sofa facing eachother, the walls were covered in bookselves, filled with phycology books and Disney toys. The reasoning behind the toys were that even professonals can act like kids every now and again. Some of the toys have needed to been replaced several times thanks to Krissy. On a small table in the corner was a kettle for tea and a broken coffee machine.
She had just settled behind her desk with morning cup of tea, about to set thing up for the day, when she heard tires screeching on the pavent outside.
Rachel sighed to herself, "It's too early in the morning for this."
Not a moment off cue, someone burst though the door of her office.
Krissy was always the first patient every morning. Being unstable in almost every aspect, those morning sessions was what kept Krissy sane (and as Rachel often suspected, keeping the human race from utter desruction). As ususal, Krissy had shown up with her clothes inside-out, rats nest for hair, smudged leftover makeup covering her face, and a smashed coffee cup in her hand.
"I NEED HELP", which for Krissy, was a very formal greeting.
Rachel merely sighed, used to the routine by now.
"I know you do. That's why you're in here. Every. Single. Day", despite dropping swearing after high school, Rachel hadn't lost her sence of sarcasm.
Yet again, not a moment off cue, another figuer appeared in the doorway.
Wesley usually wasn't as bad as Krissy, but this morning he looked like Satan's and My Chemical Romance's love child. Similar to Krissy, he had a rats nest for hair, and enough smudged eyeliner, Rachel had to assume he was at a gay bar the night before. She deemed herself proven right when she saw Wes' shirt was several sizes too big. But perhaps the most startling thing on him was the side of his face was bloody, it seemed to have been beaten with Krissy's coffee cup, since shardes of glass and coffee stains were among the blood.
Wes however, acted as though this was completly normal.
"This is fine", was all he said as he took a sip of his coffee. Rachel raised an eyebrow at him.
"You want a band-aid for that, Hot Topic?" she calmly asked while pointing at the side of his face.
Wes had to stop and think if Rachel was adressing him or Krissy, before realizing and responding.
"Eh, with a little luck it'll kill me faster", was his responce.
Rachel took off her glasses and rubbed her temples, vaugely knowing what she was in for.
"What happened this time?" with the years of knowing him and the phycology training, Rachel knew how to pick up on Wes' cues.
Wes got a sad look, "My boyfriend dumped me-"
"FORGET THAT HOE" Rachel screamed slamming her hands on her desk.
Everyone in the room laughed. The sessions carried on as normal, with lots of screaming and Krissy throwing a toaster out the window (she can get a little extreme). Finally around noon, Krissy and Wes left the office, so Rachel could carry on with her other patients.
