Now, I know what you're thinking. "Pearl, why didn't you just invite her to live with you???" Why didn't you just ask out your crush exactly the second you started liking them, dude.
Anyways.
A few months passed and we would meet on top of mount Nantai every few days. I would bring stuff for Marina to refill her bag when she ran out of essentials, but she was pretty decent at rationing stuff.
We started talking about her singing, and how I liked to rap and stuff, when she blurted out, "WE SHOULD START A BAND!!"
I stared at her in awe.
"I-I mean, uhh, I--"
"Marina."
"Y-yeah??"
"THAT'S THE COOLEST FUCKIN IDEA EVER, DUDE!!"
"R-really?! I thought you were going to make fun of me for it!"
"No way!! I have an office at my house that we can record in too!!"
She pulled out a busted, slightly-broken keyboard. "I also have this...it's not amazing but we can still use it!"
"Okay!!"

Thinking back, I didn't even realize that I had invited her over to my house, which is ironic because after that she started living with me, cause we both decided that it would work out better anyways.
She slept on the couch, I slept on my bed. I offered her to sleep in my bed and I would sleep on my couch, but she refused.
One night she fell asleep early, so I went downstairs to get my headphones so I could edit our music and let her sleep. My dad was downstairs too, and right before I ran back upstairs he stopped me and asked about marina.
I stopped dead in my track.
"What?"
"I said, do you like her?"
I thought about it. I never really realized, or thought about that. Did I like her? That's when it clicked.
I really  did like her.
We weren't just friends.
"...yes. I think I do like her.." I replied.
So many things were going through my head at once. I started panicking and ran upstairs. I couldn't breathe. All of this was way too stressful. I climbed into my bed and thought about it for a long time until I fell asleep.
