Despite it being a slightly chilly fall night, you still feel like it's a good night to be out taking a midnight walk to allow your mind to wander. You are already feeling a sense of relaxation as your feet lightly pound new, untrodden trails into the forest floor surrounding the house you have been staying in. As you listen to the soft crunches of newly fallen leaves below your feet, you let your mind finally drift as you are soothed by the quietness of the forest.
Now that you think about it, it has been almost a year now that you have finally found solace inside the Creepypasta mansion. You still think it is an odd coincidence to have stumbled upon one of the residents- a young man named Hoodie- in this same forest not a month after escaping from the life you so desperately wanted to leave behind. After being taken in by the Creepypastas, you made quick friends with Hoodie. You saw him as someone who finally helped give you the life you had always wanted, and since then you two have become very close.
You lightly grin as you let out a relaxed sigh thinking about him. Usually you would invite him and sometimes his best friend, Masky, to come along on these types of little walks you found yourself taking from time to time. Those times would often be more of a lighthearted and playful experience instead of a relaxing one like this though, since they would usually try their damndest to either spook you or make you laugh as loud as possible, breaking the peaceful silence. Your grin grows at the thought of previous walks with them, but it gently fades into a neutral expression as you let your mind relax for this walk.
You can't help still feeling a warmth in your chest from thinking of the two of them as you continue walking though.
You turn your focus to the forest once more now, coming out of your thoughts and curling your fingers together in your hoodie pocket as a particularly sharp breeze blows against you. It rattles the clusters of skeletal leaves against each other and reminds you that you should have probably worn a bra underneath it, plus another layer to keep you warm. It also doesn't help that the first pair of pants you mindlessly threw on when you left your room were yoga pants that were made to keep you from getting too hot while training. You gnaw at your lip as a wave of goosebumps skitters across your skin and you try not to shiver.
The forest slowly becomes calmer around you as you walk. The wind subsides for now, as if giving you permission to get back to aimlessly wandering around without worrying too much about the cold.
After a few minutes of wandering further in, however, the calmness turns to stillness.
Then the stillness turns to complete, eerie silence.
You find your feet stopping on their own. Another wave of goosebumps runs across your skin just as you stop, ripples of them crawling up your body and leaving your mind on edge; since this time, the wind isn't blowing against your skin to cause them, and you feel warm enough not to shiver.
You find yourself furrowing your brows at this in confusion.
Not once in all the times have you been in this forest since becoming a part of the Creepypastas have you ever been afraid or uncomfortable with lurking around in it. But something is nonetheless making you stop in your tracks to take a second glance at the now dead world around you.
