Katy's POV
It's like, everything about him is perfect. Nothing I do ever seems to be good enough. But I can't not love him, I've tried. I've tried so hard until my heart hurts. He just didn't want me. But I threw everything away for him. But it doesn't matter anymore. He's graduated, he's gone.
--1 year earlier--
"Katy! Honey come downstairs!" My mom yells at me from the kitchen.
"Uh." I groan. "I'm coming!" I yell back.
I throw a sweatshirt over my sports bra and some nike shorts and make my way downstairs.
"Katy, honey, this is Mark." My mother tells me a gestures toward a guy about her age.
"Katy, it's so good to finally meet you!" The man says reaching a hand towards me.
"Yeah, you too?" I say shaking his hand.
"Katy, we have some news to tell you.." My mother begins.
"Alright?" I say sitting at the bar in the kitchen.
"Mark and I are getting married honey!" My mom tells me with a smile on her face.
"You are marrying this guy?" I ask her.
"Yes, don't be mad or anything.." My mom tells me.
"I'm not mad." I laugh. "I'm just now meeting this guy and you tell me you are getting married."
"Katy, I love your mother, and I'm sure over time you and I will become best friends." Mark tells me.
"Yeah, probably not, but thanks for offering. Mom I'm gonna go to Sierrah's house bye." I tell her before I grab my keys to my Range Rover and walking out of the door.
"Bye!" She screams through the door.
I get in my car before a hand grabs me and drags me back into the house.
"What the hell!" I yell at Mark.
"That was very disrespectful to tell your mother what you are going to do." He tells me.
"Dude you aren't the boss of me back off!" I tell him grabbing my keys from his hand.
"Aren't you like a freshman how can you drive?" He asks me.
"I started school late, and I'm a sophomore, it really isn't any of your business." I tell him.
"Fine go." He tells me as I walk out the door back into my car.
--next day--
I woke up in my bed and I rolled over to see what time it was.
"9:17." Great, I mutter to myself I was suppose to go on a breakfast date at 10 today.
I quickly get dressed in a white flowy shirt with a pair of mint green high waisted shorts and some white flowery sandals and straighten my hair and apply some base and mascara and check the time.
"9:48." I say to myself, that gives me about 10 minutes.
I quickly tell my mom goodbye and get in my car and head to IHOP to find my date already there.
"Wow, Katy you look amazing." He tells me and kisses my cheek.
"Thank you Noah, you don't look so bad yourself." I say and wink at him.
We are quickly seated and the waitress asks us what we would like to drink.
"Orange juice for me." Noah tells her.
"And Dr. Pepper please." I tell her as she writes our orders down.
"Alright, I'll have those brought out right away." She says and smiles at us.
