Robert Scott Russell was a law enforcement official with the Collier County Sherriff's Office for more than 16 years. Based in Naples, Scott held numerous roles during his time at Collier County. Initially, Scott served as law enforcement corporal specialist within the Patrol Division—though he would later serve as detective within the Criminal Investigations Division (Violent and Property Felony Crimes).
Other roles he held at Collier County include hostage negotiator, acting patrol shift commander and acting CID unit supervisor.
