Mia POV

"Yes mother." I rolled my eyes as I listened to her list the things of what to do and what not to do during my first day of classes. If anything I had more experience than her in school, in my defense. "Look mom, I have to go. I don't want to be late. I'll video chat you and dad later. Love you!"

I hung up and quickly finished my breakfast. "Mia! You ready?!" Jeremy shouted from the bedroom. I smiled to myself as I played with my engagement ring. We got engaged last week and I was so happy to say yes.

"Yeah!" I grabbed my car keys and put my dishes in the sink. I'll wash them once I'm out of classes. Jeremy came to the living room and we went out to the car. Thank god the apartments we live at have assigned parking so we never had to worry about it.

We walked down the steps and jumped in the car. Jeremy drove to the campus, which was 10 minutes away from us. We parked and I looked at my schedule.

"So we have English together at 9. But then I have history at 11 and you have Art at the same time. You get out first so you could take the car home if you want, I'll vamp it back."

"No way," he got out of the car and opened my door for me. "I can wait the extra 20 minutes. I'll just do homework or listen to music." I nodded and we held hands as we walked towards our building.

Suddenly I felt two arms engulfing me in a hug. Caroline squealed in excitement, "You're here! I can't believe it's our first day of college guys!"

"I know but I'm so happy. How's the dorm?"

"Bonnie and I love it, but we have a weird dorm mate who's addicted to grilled cheese." I laughed at her grossed out expression. She left to go to math and we grabbed a coffee before taking the steps to the third floor.

"I'm glad I don't have to worry about a dorm mate," Jeremy said as he opened the door for me. I agreed and we saw the big classroom that held quite a few students. Jeremy and I found seats in the middle of the class as we waited for the professor.

I pulled out my notebook and a pen while Jeremy pulled out his laptop, preferring to type than write. He kissed my knuckles as I sipped on my coffee. The professor came in, quickly setting up and called for attention.

"I'm going to do roll call, raise your hand when you hear your name." We all got called, "Okay so my name is Professor Lopez, this is English 101 and if you're quiet and follow directions, we'll get along just fine. This is college, attendance is key to passing but I don't care if you show up. You aren't children anymore. If you have to leave early, use the bathroom, take a call...do it quietly. I'll be passing out the syllabus and we'll do a small three page essay today."

I groaned softly and Jeremy chuckled, making me glare at him. We got a syllabus and I couldn't believe how many essays would be due in a semester. Jeremy pulled out his paper so he could do his essay.

"I want you to describe yourself. I don't want your age or favorite memory. I don't want simple sentences. I'm requiring three pages so go into full detail. This will be your first grade in class so make it good. You may talk amongst yourselves quietly but stay on task. You may leave once you have completed. Begin."

I started writing and I felt eyes on me. I looked over and saw a girl staring at Jeremy with lust. I rolled my eyes and didn't let that get to me. He was my fiancé anyways.

After an hour and a half, Jeremy had finished his and kissed my forehead. "I'll go grab us food down the building while you finish up."

I nodded, I only had one page left. He turned in his assignment and left downstairs. I didn't exactly know what to write since I died at 6, was in a tomb for over a century, and barely started living life. I couldn't write that so I wrote more about why I chose to continue college.
