You gagged awake from the strong scent of incense in the air, choking rapidly. The small voice at the back of your mind questioned the smell but you felt to nauseous to properly think it through. You weren't immediately freaked because you we're still wearing what you fell asleep in (your bra and some comfy trousers). After a couple of minutes used to somewhat assemble your thoughts, however, the unfamiliarity of the area set in.
'What? Where am I?'
The decorations appeared gaudy and didn't seem dissimilar to the illustrations of Lau's base from the chapter of Black Butler you had completed most recently. The unpleasant aroma only seemed to grow stronger, smelling nothing like your home, the place you had been just last night.
A wave of unease.
'Why aren't I in my room?'
Standing up, your head began to spin rapidly and you felt the urge to be sick as your stomach lurched.
"Looks like we aren't in Kansas anymore (Y/n)," you muttered to yourself, the true weight of the scenario not completely hitting you in your dazed state. Stumbling around, you reached a curtain that you then drew back. Your eyes locked with a room of people turned to stare. The pressure insured the dizziness consume every fibre of your being. One face stood out, even with the world spinning. A face with navy blue hair combed delicately on top and a black velvet eyepatch covering a symbol you knew would be there if your half thought-through assumptions were accurate.
"Ciel.... Phantomhive?" you whispered in shock before you hit the ground, completely stone cold out.

"Miss? Miss?" you heard a worried female ask as a hand gently patted your face. Your eyes slowly slid open as a girl with dark magenta-tinged hair and glasses perched atop her head was looking over you.
"Oh thank the stars your awake, yes!" she jittered. "Gave us quite the fright there, you did."
She moved backwards to slow you the room to sit up, which you did slowly, grabbing your head in agony.
"What might be your name, Miss?" she asked. "You don't really like like you're from around these parts." Your clothing received a scathing glance.
"Oh, right," you muttered. "I'm (y/n)." You only said your first name, not wanting this stranger knowing your full name, after all. As your dazed head began to clear, the lady's appearance became more and more familiar. The pieces slotted together in your slow-moving brain and you quietly whispered to yourself.
"Mey-rin?" The girl seemed taken aback, having overheard you. "And how would it be that you know my name Miss?"
"Wait, your name is actually Mey-rin??" you exclaimed in utter shock. "That means, I did see Phantomhive! And Sebastian must be here. Holy shit! Unless this is some elaborate cosplay scheme (f/n) organised, I'm definitely not meant to be here."
Mey-rin took a moment to process your outburst. Several parts seemed to have her perplexed, such as the mention of the term cosplay, but her instincts took over when she heard the the names. Her glasses glinted and she pinned you down in a heartbeat.
"What's the young master matter to you?" she spat. "Did HE send you?"
Realising she meant the real Ciel, you shook your head rapidly. "No I was not sent here by Ciel or the Undertaker," you explained in a panic, forgetting that knowing their names would still make you suspicious.
"Doesn't sound like it," the snipper maid growled. She opened her mouth to shout and you were powerless to stop her. You knew what was about to happen.
"SEBASTIAN! She's awake, to be sure!" Mey-rin yelled as you panicked internally.
"Is that so Mey-rin?" the voice that could truly belong to only a demon inquired, as the body it came from strode into the room. He observed the scene and then spoke.
"Let the lady go, Mey-rin. I require to speak to her. Alone."
You gulped at the emphasis on the final word. The maid nodded and reluctantly got off of you, leaving the room.
"Now," spoke the demon. "What are you doing here?"
'If I had to be here, couldn't I have been transported to any easier time?'

[A/N] Hey guys! I hope this book actually appeals to more people. I know I might get some angry Alois fans coming at me but the anime was a train wreck. Anyway. I hope you enjoyed the first chapter. I know it was pretty short but I will make them longer in the future.
Have a good day!
