(Y/N) and Portia walked side by side down the hallway towards Nadia's room. For the longest time, the two worked together as maids for the Countess and had soon become her two favorites. Because they were Nadia's favorites, they were always tasked with more personal matters such as waking the Countess up.
After walking through multiple glamorous halls, the two made it to the Countess' chambers. Portia gave a light knock to the door that was met with no answer. Shrugging, the red-haired girl opened the door and the two walked in. They both started pulling the curtains to the windows up, letting light into the room. "My lady," (Y/N) started. "It's time to get up."
Nadia groaned, one eye opening before closing it due to the bright light in the room. She quickly clutched her head in anguish. "Please close those curtains. My head hurts too badly for the sun today."
"Yes, my lady." Portia said. The two maids then started closing the curtains as instructed before gathering supplies to help deal with Nadia's headache. "Would you like some tea, my lady?" Portia asked.
"Please." Nadia said simply.
Though she didn't see it, Portia nodded to her. "Of course, my lady?" She then turned to (Y/N). "You start helping here. I'll go make the tea." She then nudged her in the side and gave her a wink before whispering. "I'll take my time." She then walked out of the room, closing the door behind her. (Y/N) blushed at the implications that Portia had sent. She wanted her to make a move. Yes, maybe she did have a crush on the Countess. So what if everyone but the Countess knew? She was happy with what it was, though wished deep down that it could be more.
With a silent sigh, (Y/N) spoke. "I'll grab the rag." She walked over to the washbasin in the room and dipped the rag that sat on its rim into the cool water. She rung it out before walking over to Nadia, who now laid on her back. She folded the rag before setting it on her head. "How does that feel, my lady?"
Nadia smiled faintly up at her. "Splendid." Nadia then motioned to a stool near the bed. "Please, have a seat." (Y/N) complied, pulling the stool closer before sitting down.
"Is there anything else you need, my lady?"
"Please," Nadia started. "Just call me Nadia."
(Y/N) blushed slightly. "Alright, Nadia."
Nadia smiled. "My name sounds like honey coming from your tongue." This statement caused (Y/N)'s blush to darken and for Nadia to chuckle lightly. There was silence for a moment before the Countess spoke again. "Would you be so kind as to tell me a story?"
A little taken aback by her request, (Y/N) responded. "Yes, of course. What would you like me to read?"
"No, no, nothing like a real book. I want a story from your own lips, your own creation." Nadia turned her head to look at the other female, a smile on her lips. "Could you do that for me?"
"I could try..." (Y/N) said before letting her mind start to think of a good story. "Okay, I think I've got one." Nadia shifted slightly listening as (Y/N) spoke. "The day was dry yet wet, dark but light. A perfect mixture for an outing. The two girls sat out in the garden, their hands intertwined as they watched the clouds roll by. "What time is it?" Asked the one.
"I don't know." The other responded. "I've lost count of how many minutes we've been out here."
"Do you like it here?" The first asked.
"As long as I'm with you, love, I will always like it." The second said, a smile gracing their lips.
"What would you do if you lost me?" The first asked, catching the second off guard.
"Why would you ask such a thing?" The second asked.
"I don't know. I just wonder what would become of us if we lost the other."
"Well," The second started. "I can't imagine a world without you. I'd go mad without you here, I'm sure of it."
The first laughed. "How could you go mad? I'm sure you'd just find someone else."
"No," The second said. "I wouldn't. There is no one who could replace you." With that, the two shared a gentle kiss. "Let's go in now. It's bound to be around supper time." The second said, standing up and leading the first into their home." (Y/N) looked to Nadia for her approval, finding a smile on the female's face.
"A wonderful story."
"Really?" (Y/N) asked. "It didn't seem that special to me."
"It was to me." Nadia said. "Would you tell me a story tomorrow? I think my headache may last until then."
(Y/N) smiled. "As you wish, my lady Nadia."
