Welcome to Hell

I rubbed my arm as we neared the school. My mom was driving erratically through the streets in our beat-up Honda civic. I hit my head on the window as she made a sharp curve. Shit. "Mom, I can't go to school. I'm injured," I complained sarcastically. "I'm sorry, but you have to go to school, sweetie. Its the only way you'll be able to achieve your dreams." There she was talking all hopeful. For some reason she had assumed that because I watched a lot of Forensic Files, I wanted to be a forensic scientist. In reality, I was just interested in all the ways that people were murdered and how the criminals tried to cover it up.

I felt a sense of impending doom as we neared the school. Several teens were crowded at the entrance, trying to get to school on time or just making others lives miserable. North Valley wasn't my first choice, but it was the only one we could afford because it was public. So, its safe to say that I didn't choose hell, it chose me. My thoughts were interrupted by a sudden jolt. I hit my head, yet again, on the dashboard. "Mom, you gotta slow down or you're gonna bash my head in," I complained, rubbing my forehead. "I'm sorry, I just don't want you to be late," she apologized. I opened the door and pulled myself out of the car seat. This took a lot of effort because of my....extra baggage. I stumbled out and it took me a second to regain my balance. "Bye, mom," I waved at her. "Bye sweetie," she blew me a kiss. Why do you have to be so nice?!?! I walked up to the school gate. It was full with literally the whole school. But, of course they all fit because they all weighed less than 200 pounds. I walked towards the school with as much confidence as I could master(which was very little). I could already feel the taunting remarks beginning to form in their heads. They might as well put up a banner that said, Welcome to Hell.
