"Why would you do something like this? The police could have been involved had I not intervened!"
The principals loud, booming voice echoes through my head as I ride my bike home. Suspended for the rest of the semester. My dad is going to kill me. I swerve a pot hole in the cracked pavement and speed up, peddling faster and faster. As I turn the corner, my house comes into view. The large oak trees leaves are starting to turn dark hues of orange and yellow, and a few of them are brown and crinkled. The grass is starting to die and patches in my front yard are turning pale yellow. My dog runs across the yard to me, and as I reach the garage he is at my side. I pet him behind his ears and we walk inside together."You're home early, something happen?" My dad says. He is dicing a carrot and I can see a pot of boiling water on the gas stove behind him.
"I'll talk to you later, I have some homework to do. Love you," I shout as I run up the stairs to my room. I lock the door behind me and put my favorite Queen record into my record player. As I put the needle down I can hear my dad's phone ring downstairs. The school must be calling him to tell him of my "crimes". I flop down onto my bed, and as I go to pick up my phone, my dad yells for me from downstairs.
"Eric!" He screams. "Get down here right now!"
