"Susanna!" calls Mrs. Hardin. "Come down here, please!"
"What is it momma?" asked Susanna.
"We are leaving to go out for a bit, now we can trust you to stay here alone, right?"
"Yes, I promise I will behave" replied Susanna firmly.
"Good, now remember the rules, no answering to door to ANYONE do you understand?"
"Yes momma, I know, and if I ever need help I am to call the sheriffs department" stated Susanna.
"Okay honey, we will be back in a bit, please stay safe." said Mrs. Hardin
"I will" replied Susanna
"Let's go honey!" yelled Mr. Hardin from outside.
They said their goodbyes and Mr. and Mrs. Hardin were on their way."Hmm" Susanna thought to herself, she had the whole house to herself and wondered what to do. "I think I'm going to make some homemade donuts!"she said excitedly to her cat, Scruffles. "Alright Scruffles come over here with me." Scruffles ran over and jumped onto the counter, Susanna giggled. "So we need to get out the milk, eggs, flour, sugar, and butter." As Susanna was getting out her ingredients she heard a noise! She let out a little scream, she then turned around to discover it had just been Scruffles who had knocked over a pile of books they had lying around. "Geez Scruffles, you scared me! I thought somebody was trying to get into the house!" Scruffles jumped back over to Susanna and they started baking their donuts.
