"11:30, see you there." Carrie said. She couldnt believe it, the hottest guy in school had just invited her and her best friend lilah to a party!
"Are you sure we should go, I could get in trouble and so could you if we sneak out.", lilah complains.
"Maybe we won't have to, we haven't asked yet, they might let us go.", replies Carrie.
"Have you met your parents, much less mine!"
"Have some hope lilah, it could happen," Carrie smirks, ",if they don't know that Jake will be there, or perhaps, any boy. Chris will be there! Come on, whats the worse that could happen?"
"Carrie, remember what happened last time you said that? And the only reason I'm going is because of Chris!"
"Hey, in my defense, I didn't know the monkey would do that!"
Lilah and Carrie thought about the monkey and shuddered in unison.They both had algebra next period. Lilah was a straight A student. Meanwhile, Carrie thought she was good at math, up until the sixth grade, when they decided to mix the alphabet with it.
Neither one of them could focus on the test in algebra, not even lilah,shewas thinking about the huge lie she was about to tell. But with Carrie, it was the thought of being with jake, all night!!
As soon as the family was asleep, they snuck out. Lilah told her parents she was spending the night with Carrie, they didn't mind, and it wasn't a total lie. So she didn't feel as guilty.
As soon as lilah saw chris her guilt was replaced with butterflies.
"Wanna dance?", Chris asked over the music.
Lilah was stunned. She had never been asked to dance before, she wasn't sure she knew how! She was finally able to say yes.
Carrie was looking for jake when she saw a little girl holding a red ribbon. She starts to walk towards the little girl, when she disappears.
