I still remembered how everything started, I still remembered how my life changed, even for a short period of time. On the 28th of November, the night was still young. I was with my group of friends over at Peter's house. Peter and I were close since freshman year. Also, we had a thing back then. Others called us lovers, some called us friends with benefits. However, we both know none of them were true.

We used to go over to his house whenever we felt like it. That night, we were just slacking around while using our addictive mobile phones. Our group of friends consists of twins, named Jerain & June, a huge-macho basketball player, named Darren, and two clingy girls, named Helen and Aidelyn. There's a timid guy named Kenneth whose actually part of the clique, but he got busy over the holidays and we couldn't hang out with him as much as we wanted to.

"HOW THE HELL DID THAT EVEN HAPPEN," exclaimed an enraging Darren, after a match of League of Legends.

"EXACTLY. So much for teamwork," agreed Peter, who was equally pissed after losing a match over a bunch of keyboard warriors.

The two girls sighed and resumed whatever they were doing before the commotion interfered. While June and I, on the other hand, were laughing our asses off at the guys' priceless reactions. Earlier on, we predicted the aftermath of the match and both agreed on the losing team. With no doubt, they really lost! To think of it, we were a bit of an ass to predict such a thing, especially when it's our good friends who are on the line. Nevertheless, it was just a game.

After hours of endless surfing on the internet and random casual conversations, all of us got restless. Darren started disturbing Helen, Aidelyn rested her shoulders on Peter, Jerain slept soundly, June lied on the bed and I leaned on the wall with comfort. The room got darker as time ticked by, but we were all to lazy to get our butts up and switch the lights on. Teenagers these days enjoyed things in the dark anyways, so we just ignored the thickening darkness.

As playful as a 5 year-old kid, i snatched June's phone and kept it away from him whenever he inched his arm to reach for his phone. I started scrolling through his messages, when i realize the umpteen amount of girls he talk to. I felt this stinging pain in my chest as I lost grip of his phone, after seeing the endless chats of different girls. "Woah.. that's a lot of girls dude. Damn, go to them. I won't text you anymore, since you've got more to entertain." Those words escaped from my mouth before I realized what i was blabbering about. June's face immediately changed and got all serious. As a good friend for the past few years, he knew I get upset when it comes to these things and he started explaining himself. "It's not like as if I started the conversation with them. Look, they just asked me a question. See? I just clarified their doubts and I'm merely innocent."

I knew I couldn't stay mad for long, so I gave in and smiled at him instead. THEN THE MOST UNEXPECTED THING HAPPENED...

June pulled my hand under the pillow he was lying on and interlaced his hands with mine. Due to the astonishment and chaotic butterflies in my stomach, I stared at him for the longest time ever. (Just kidding, it was just for 2.5 seconds) After returning to my state of normalcy, I pulled my hand out of his grip but failed. Did I forget to mention how much strength June has, for such a skinny dude? All along I thought I was the only one who was hiding my feelings, but little do i know about the little secret he has been keeping too. Then it hit me, we actually like each other!
