"Taehyung," Jimin called out. Taehyung didn't dare open his eyes. He knew how early in the morning Jimin liked to wake him up. Jimin impatiently, and a bit annoyed, rounded the corner, looking at Taehyung. Taehyung was covered in these fluffy pastel blankets, overcoming him and sinking all around him. Jimin stopped, admiring the peaceful Taehyung he probably wasn't going to see for the rest of the day.
"Hey, idiot, wake up," Jimin said, snapping away from the calm surroundings. Jimin looked at his phone, "I let you sleep in. We're meeting Jin's friends today," he'd say with an anxious tone before sighing. Jimin took one last look as he turned around. "I know you haven't really been in the mood to go out, but I promise you, we'll have today," he said before vanishing around a corner.
And Jimin was right. Taehyung was swamped with work at all times. Psychology class this, creative writing class that, it was just such a busy schedule. Thankfully, it was about to be the end of his college career. No more staying up until four a.m with nothing but an onslaught of "chill music" videos that didn't make him feel chill at all.
Taehyung was just finally coming out of the work cave after barely having seen his friends outside of class for a couple of weeks. They came over, but it was 'work this, work that.' He had to make it up to his amazingly patient friends. But it was weird for Jin to pick up new friends.
It had always been the four of them. Taehyung, Jimin, Hoseok, and Jin. Jin had told Taehyung numerous times to get a new boyfriend, and it wasn't like he was in horrible relationships, but the passion always ended up fading just a few days later. He questioned Jin profusely when Jin said "three really handsome boys" but refused to show him any actual pictures. Jin kept saying, "pictures won't do these boys justice," even though Taehyung was sure he'd seen it all.
"So be it!" Taehyung shouted into the hall, "Is it a bar cause I want alchohal~!" At that moment he could tell Jimin was perking up, running back down the hallway. "Hell yeah!" Jimin yelled, doing his signature twirl and pose. Taehyung nodded, "you're looking cute today, I assume you're gonna try to hit on one of the so-called, 'cute boys'?" To that, Jimin could only nod and then turned. "What about you Taehyung?"
"Eh, maybe," Taehyung sighed. "My luck with relationships isn't..the best." he laughed. Jimin just rolled his eyes. "Tae, you are a whole ass meal, you'll be fine," Jimin reassured him before looking at his phone. "But, the catch is we're actually meeting them at a murder mystery party~. Really fancy, I know." Jimin said in a bit of an excited and sarcastic tone. Taehyung laughed, checking his phone, "Imagine meeting your future husband but the first thing you say to him is 'PLEASE DON'T MURDER ME'" Jimin laughed too, then began to turn the corner again. "Hoseok is coming to pick us up in about forty-five minutes I believe. Sorry, I woke you up late, but your eye bags are gone." Jimin said in almost a teasing manner.
"Oh, nice," Taehyung muttered, touching his face. "Thanks, Jimin," Taehyung thanked him before shutting his door. "Now I'm gonna make myself the hottest man ever, you hear?" Taehyung laughed at the door. Jimin said something back, but the door was so thick he barely heard anything from the other side.
Teahyung ruffled his hair. Murder mystery surely got him more into this than he was. Murder mystery shows were some of Taehyung's favorite things to watch. Oh, did Jin pick this out for me? Taehyung thought, a warm feeling in his heart. So sweet.
Taehyung did everything like normal. Took a quick fifteen-minute shower, brushed and blowdried his hair, put on a plain black sweater that said "Tired." and some black ripped jeans. He threw on his white converse and looked at himself. Fantastic, aren't you? Taehyung thought, looking into the mirror one last time before leaving his room. (A/N: tae has a bathroom connected to his room alone, rich boy.)
"Jimin, I'm ready to go," Taehyung yelled into the hallway. Jimin, scrolling through stuff on his phone looked up and smiled. "Not so bad," Jimin teased, "not trying to impress anyone huh? I see you boo." Taehyung felt a slight blush go across his face. "Shut up nerd I'm taking precautions." Taehyung defended himself before sighing. "Is it time to go?" He asked.
"Yeah, it is. Actually, we're already a minute late. Thankfully, Hobi is right outside." Jimin said, putting his phone in his pocket. "How did you come up with Hobi as a nickname anyway?" Taehyung asked. Jimin shrugged, "long story, lots of wine."
Taehyung walked out of their small apartment building. They lived about half an hour from their college, and they could only afford it thanks to Jimin becoming an established model and Taehyung being quite adept at making tea. They both left the house, seeing Hoseok parked right outside, Jin already rocking shotgun.
"Get in losers we're gonna go meet cute boys," Jin said smiling. Jimin scrunched his nose, "quote 'Mean Girls' one more time and I'm not coming with." Jin sighed and looked at the road ahead of them, "Yah! You're no fun," he whined, "but whatever, let's go slowpokes. Cute boys await us."
Hoseok laughed at this. Taehyung just felt sympathy. "Hoseok you know you don't have to laugh at his jokes right?" Taehyung asked, buckling into his seat and opening his phone. Hoseok just smiled, like always, "I don't know what you're talking about. I love Jin's jokes!" Jimin and Taehyung looked at each other for maybe one second before Jin just flipped his hands into the air. "Yes! At least someone enjoys my jokes. I feel appreciated," Jin yelled triumphantly as Hoseok began pulling out of the parking lot.
"So, where is this place?" Jimin asked, fixing an earring, "I thought the city didn't have any murder mystery type places." Jin flipped his hair back, of course in a way that it wouldn't get messed up. "Ah, you see, I, Jin, the most handsome man in the world, the king of the universe, the-" Jin yelled until he saw Jimin glaring at him with that same sassy look which meant, 'hoe stop I'm gonna bitch slap you.' and just cleared his throat, "I found it while looking for things T- I mean I wanted to do. I put myself first losers." Taehyung smiled, looking at Jin with that look of affection...platonically don't get any wrong ideas weirdos.
They bickered and whatnot in the car before pulling up to what seemed to be a nice looking building. It had posters up showing off a multitude of events. Escape rooms, Glow-in-the-Dark minigolf, etc., and of course the "Murder Mystery" party for up to 10 people. Jin had explained that there would be three other random people with them because Jin was only able to fill up seven of the slots.
