Galileo (Roger)

You pulled up to the house at Rockfield Farm and parked your car. You couldn't believe how beautiful it was here, hell you couldn't believe you were here. You were excited to surprise your boyfriend Roger, no one knew you were coming to visit except Brian.

When you got out of your car you could hear voices coming from inside the barn, which you knew was the studio from talking to Roger on the phone.

You decided to go suprise the boys there, as you got closer you heard a very high voice singing "Galileo" over and over. You immediately recognized who that voice belonged to and smiled.

You looked through the doorway and saw Brian sitting on a couch with a paper in his hands smiling and shaking his head at his frustrated bandmate and you could also see the back of Freddie standing in front of some recording reels.

As you got closer to the door Brian noticed you and smiled but motioned for you to stay by the door and listen. You covered your mouth to hide your giggle, you didn't want to mess up the surprise. Brian went back to reading his paper before Roger noticed anything.

"Galileo....galileo figaro." Roger sang

"How was that?" You heard Roger say. You peaked into the studio just enough to see Deacy sitting at the controls with Roy, but you couldn't see Roger without him seeing you.

"Freddie?" John turned and asked.
You couldn't see Freddie's face but you could tell he was thinking.... "higher" he finally said. John then pushes the button on the controls and tells Roger "Can you go a bit higher?"

"If I go any higher only dogs will hear me" you hear your boyfriend say back.

You had to take a step back from the doorway because you started to laugh, you were afraid someone would hear you. Freddie then says "Try".

"Freddie's note sorry" you can hear John say back. You make your back to your spot by the door. You hear Roger grown "go on then roll the tape".

"Overdub 24 of Fred's thing" Roy says into the mic before the music starts up again.

"Galileo....galileo....galileo figaro."

"How was that? Better?" Roger said, you can hear the tiredness in his voice. You personally think Roger sounds beautiful, you have always loved his voice. But yet again you hear Freddie "higher". You look over at Brian in time to see him pointing up towards the ceiling telling Roger to go higher.

"Jesus how many more galileos do you want?" Even though you can't see Roger you can just imagine the face he is making and probably putting his hands on his hips.

"Freddie wants to do a few more overdubs" John tells Roger.

"Do we even have any tape left?" You hear Roger say.

"I do have to say the tape is wearing out..it can't take much more" John says while looking back at Freddie. Brian then says "We can't afford much more. What are we three weeks over schedule"

"Dub 26 of Fred's thing" Roy says again while the music fills the room.
Roger then starts again with his galileos, and every time you think hes got it and there's no way he can go any higher Freddie asks him.

You completely lost track of how many times he repeated this, you can only imagine how frustrated Roger is getting.

"Who even is Galileo?" Roger asks and you can only shake your head and laugh.

Then finally after yet another set of galileos Freddie turns around and starts walking back and forth in front of Brian and says "That's it! It's beautiful...love it!" He glances towards the door and notices you standing there and sends you a big smile but you quickly motion for him to not say anything.
