Making love or mating?

Stefan P.O.V. 

The next morning I woke up to Bo tossing and turning around and whispering words that I couldn’t catch. She was probably having a nightmare, and I don’t blame her if she did. She has gone through stuff that no one should ever have to go through especially in so little time and at such a young age.

“Bo baby your safe, I’m right here don’t worry I’ve got you wake up baby” I whispered softly in her ear taking her on my lap and hugging her tightly. Her eyes popped open, her long hair was everywhere and her breathing unsteady.

“NO DAD NO” was all she said. My eyebrows came down, she’s dreaming about her dad? Deciding not to ask her anything until her breathing slowed down, I kept her close to me hoping to help her. I felt something wet on my shirt and it didn’t take long for me to realize that they were tears.

“Baby don’t cry please? Tell me what’s wrong so I can fix it, I don’t what to do to make it better.” I said rushed

“Just hold me” was all she and with a sniffle she hugged me as hard as she could. I laid down and cuddled with her until her stomach growled. I couldn’t help it, I burst out laughing.

“Are you hungry?” I asked her with a chuckle.

“I guess so” she answered with a laugh, and let me tell you it was the best thing I’ve heard in my life.

We went to the kitchen and I started to make pancakes for the both of us.

 Bo never asked where her brothers where or what we talked about, which I was grateful for. I didn’t want to explain to her that her family wants her back, and that I’m going to war with them.

I decided that it was a safe choice to mark and mate her to keep her safe and teach her all about the mating bond that way if they take her she still has a way of communicating with me.

The problem was how I was going to explain to her that I needed to mate with her. I really wanted to make it special for her after what her brothers told me but safety always comes first right? 

 “Whatcha cooking up there Alpha? All my life I’ve known you and I have never seen you cook.” I heard Devlin’s obnoxious voice say from behind me.

“Oh go away you little shit, there’s none for you” I spat shaking my head with a smirk on my face.

“DON’T TALK TO HIM LIKE THAT!” we turned our heads around to see Bo glaring at me with a red face. Walking towards Devlin she held eye contact with me until she took his face in her hands asking if he’s okay and saying he could have her pancakes.

I couldn’t help but growl at her for showing affection to another man, but before my wolf could rip Devlin’s throat out I heard Bo say something that made my heart stop. 

“As Luna I will always take care of you and the other pack members, so if you’re hungry then you can eat my whatever Stefan is making” she whispered to him. Devlin looked at her with such adoring eyes, I could even feel what he felt through the pack link since his feelings for her were so strong.

She made him feel like he belonged to something much greater than a pack or a family, and it wasn’t until then that I realized my Beta and mate made The connection. The connection was so rare that most Betas never get a chance to feel it.

There were no words to describing The connection, but most Betas say they that the sense of belonging is so great it feels as though the Luna has taken half your heart in a mother and son type of way.

“Thank you Luna, but I shall be going I have orders to fulfil” Devlin whispered, eyes still wide.

“No, I want you to eat something and then take the day off” Bo said wrapping herself around his leg. Devlin looked at me questioning if he should, but before I could answer Bo hissed at me saying

“Right Stefan” gulping loudly I simply nodded to scared to speak. As an alpha I don’t scare easily but Bo’s tone of voice really go to me.

“Right then Stefan keep making whatever your making because it smells so good, now Devlin come here and I need to talk to you” Bo said, confidence rolling off of her.

Turning around I went back to making more pancakes, still confused on what happened. All I knew was that today was going to be a hard day.
