"genisis c'mon, you're gonna be late for school!" aunt jenna screamed from downstairs. "i'm coming, i'm coming!" Jen screamed back. she quickly brushed out her hair, put on a blue thrasher hoodie and some black skinny jeans with black and white checkered vans. then applied a layer of both mascara and lipgloss before running down. "why dont you rush jeremy?" Jen asks.
"because ive been ready for over an hour" her brother jeremy replies from behind her. he smirks at her and then walks out. they all get into aunt jenna's black mustang and drive off to school.
it was the first day of emma's junior year and the first of jeremy's freshman year. aunt jenna had gotten a job at their school as the nurse so they would have to stay a little later at school because of it.
"see you guys later, i see abby" jen says before starting to walk away.
"if you skip class on the first day young lady i will move you to a different school!" aunt jenna screams after her.
"no you wont. we both know it" jen shouts behind her. and she walks away.
jen's pov
i saw abby coming my way, abby and i have been best freinds since 4th grade but i was like the bad girl, i'd been that way ever since my parents died 6 months ago in a car crash. me and abby were both sweeter than honey, we were exemplar students and everything. she still is, i'm not. i'm different now. and everyone knows it. people still look at me with the same pity looks but not just because my parents died, but because of what it had driven me to become.
i personally dont see what all the fuss is about.
so i saw abby coming my way with a big smile on her face, she was holding something. a box, a CD box. it was NF's latest album in CD form. it was called the search. she was absolutely obsessed with him. i liked the beats he used but i didnt understand why he had to mix his religion with his music, it was a major turn off for me, it's why i didn't listen to him. abby isn't a huge church girl either, she believes in god and all but she isnt huge on it. i definitely arent either. that's when abby's voice interuppted my train of thought.
"hello?! earth to jen! girl are you even listening to me? ugh." she said clearly frustrated.
"sorry abby i was just thinking, anyways come on lets go to the mall" i said
"n-" abby began to say but she was interuppted by a voice from behind us.
"you know if you're planning on skipping you probably shouldnt say it so loud" the voice from behind me says.
"thanks for the tip" i say while rolling my eyes playfully
"i'm jake" he says. "and this is my brother eric." he says pointing to the boy next to him. he didn't look to happy about having to be there but he still looked up said hi and shook my hand. wow real gentleman, haha. "wanna skip together, haha?" he asks. "sure , this is my best friend abby by the way , my name's genisis, you guys can call me Gen. cmon abb's lets go" i say to abby.
"oh heck no! it's the first day of school, gen , we can't do this." she says
"i agree" eric says.
"guess it's just us then" i say to jake.
"guess so" he says while shrugging. we get into his truck, it's a GMC , red. really nice tbh. we went to get frozen yogurt first then to the mall, we just walked around til we decided it was getting late and school ended in an hour so we headed back. we waited in the parking lots o our phones til 5 minutes before class ended then walked in and went to abby and erics last classes of the day and met out front. abby and eric had one class together, appearantly i had them all with eric.
"you guys busy tonight?" jake asked.
"not really" i replied. abby wasnt either.
"i am" eric said quitely
"youre always busy" jake said rolling his eyes
"you know i cant just ditch church." eric responds
"church? you're a church boy?" i ask, trying my hardest to stiffle my giggles.
"yes" eric says coldly.
"well then i guess it'll just be us tonight. movies. 8 PM. it'll be me and a few other buddies of mine." jake says.
"see you then" i replied.
"ill pick you up at 7" abby says from next to me.

i was finishing changing when i heard a knock on my door ,it was abby i let her in and finished getting ready. i was changing into a red spaghetti strap with a leather jacket over and some regular ripped blue jeans. with some black high heel ankle boots.
"ready?" abby asks.
"yeah. let's go" i replied.
