"Hi Katrina I'm glad you showed up"her mother smiled at her as she kept a straight face.
"If it wasn't for grandma we wouldn't be sitting here right now" Katrina said truthfully
"I guess that's fair, so how are you , you look good"
"I'm fine thank you but can we cut the small talk why'd you call me here"
"I um really wanted to apologize for how me and your dad acted towards you when you were younger and if i could go back and change it i would in a heart beat" her mother said looking at her for sympathy.
"Bull shit you knew exactly what you were getting yourself into and as for dad i know he's not genuinely sorry you're only saying that" she said harshly
"Katrina McCluster now i know i did some bad things but I'm still your moth-"
"Mother my ass Nicole you sat there and watched that man beat me every chance he got , you were never there for me , you never loved me and certainly you never cared for me Because if you did you would've never turned to drugs and drinking, why did you do it" Katrina said as tears ran down her cheeks.
"I started doing it because i lost my job and on top of that i found out your father was having an affair and he wouldn't let me leave so the only way i could cope with the stress was drugs Katrina i promise I'm so sorry you don't have to forgive me today tomorrow or even next year but i would love to have a relationship with you, i wasn't in my right mind taking those drugs but i promise I'm clean I've been clean for 5 years now but your grandmother never let me get in contact with you until she was sure i was good" she said truthfully
"Do you know how hard it was not being able to run to you guys when i had a problem or my mother show me the real world , getting my apartment on my own , my own car, i even turned to stripping just to make a living do you know how stressful those time were for me and you wasn't even my backbone to fall on when times got rough now it's gonna take me some time to forgive you but I'll put my pride to the side , I will not keep you away from Jayden but for now please just let me be" she nodded her head wiping her tears as Katrina did the same as she stood up
"Can i at least get a hug before you leave"Katrina gave her a hug which the both of them both needed. They said their goodbyes and she walked off and towards her car before getting in as the rest of her tears came gushing out.
Just sitting there made her think about her life everything was so good until her mom turned to drugs and her father always took his anger out on her and felt no sympathy for her screams and crying out for help. Being at that house was a living hell for her. She always wished to grow up with the most supportive parents but she never got that. Her home wasn't always bad but the good turned badly really quickly so there was no thinking about the good anymore her parents scared her for life and it made her very scared to trust anyone but when she met MiMi she invited her in with open arms.
