olivia kept her head down as she walked into school. she was beyond nervous. she knew she had to see him. her heart felt like it was about to jump out of her chest. olivia continued to walk to her first class of the day, history. she shifted her books in her hands as she walked into the class, saying a quick hello to her teacher. "olivia!" her head snapped up in surprise. her heartbeat slowed down a bit after seeing her best friend. olivia smiled to herself, "chloe!". olivia sat her things down and gave chloe a hug. "how have you been?" olivia asked, getting her homework out. "could be better, but im pretty good! thanks for letting me copy!" chloe said taking olivia's homework to copy of off. olivia smiled as she looked at the board to see the lesson plan for the day. she really regreted that. "oh, shut up, macca." it was him. olivia could recognise that stupid voice anywhere. why him? why couldn't he just leave her alone for one day? olivia turned her head to actually look at him. "lennon, mccartney, be quiet!" the teacher scolded. "sorry miss." paul laughed, looking at john. olivia blushed and shook her head slightly. "oh god. why can't he just drop out already?" chloe asked. olivia laughed and took a deep sigh, resting her head on the palm of her hand. the boys had sat down at their seats when paul had noticed olivia. "john, isn't that your bird?" john's head turned to the right to see olivia talking to chloe. chloe must have said something funny to make olivia laugh. he missed her laugh. just the sight made john's heart soften. he quickly snapped out of it, shaking his head, "not anymore." he said with a hint of sadness laced in his tone. paul patted john's shoulder and told him he knows how he feels. "alright class, today you'll be assigned a project with a partner!" olivia sighed as she knew she wouldn't get paired with chloe; they never got to work together. "you and your partner that i'll choose will pick a greek god/goddess and explain what they are the god of, why they are the god of such thing, how they came to be, and you will write a short story that involves your chosen god. this is due by next week." the teacher says as she hands out the rubric. "your partner's name is on the paper that i have given you. no, you can't switch partners. don't even ask." olivia's heart sunk to the floor when she saw his name. why her? john's heart skipped a beat when he saw her name. maybe this is a sign? "get with your partner and get to work. you have the entire class." the teacher said as she went to her desk. olivia searched for john in the mass of people. his light brown eyes met her dark blue ones in a matter of seconds. olivia smiled lightly and patted the now empty seat next to her. "oh shit." john thought as olivia smiled. paul nodded in olivia's direction, telling john to go for it. john patted paul on the shoulder as he walked to her desk. olivia shifted her skirt and fixed her hair as john sat down and got everything they needed ready. "hi john." olivia said shyly. "hi, love." john said, trying to keep himself together. olivia could've melted right then and there but instead, she blushed deeply and shook her head. "do you have any ideas on who you want to pick?" she asked, facing john. his hair wasn't styled today. the soft brown hair fell onto his head in a messy yet cute way. she bit her lip to hold back a smile. he finally listened to her about fixing up his hair. olivia looked amazing. her newly blonde hair fell over her shoulders and framed her face perfectly. her eyes shined the way they did on their first date. olivia's cheeks were still tainted with pink, something john always found cute. she listened to him too. she finally wore the red lipstick he said looked amazing on her whenever she decided to wear it. "um, john?" john took the paper in his hands and stacked them onto eachother. "so, i was thinking we could do aphrodite, if you're alright with that." olivia nodded and said, "i can write the story if you want to do the questions." "right, that works. do you want to meet later so we can work on it?" john questioned. "oh yeah, sure!" olivia said a little too energetically. the bell for the next class rang as they looked at eachother. "2:30, at mine, i'll wait for you after school!" john said, walking to paul. olivia nodded and smiled, waving at him. chloe came back to their desk to walk with olivia to their next class. the whole way there chloe talked about the really cute girl she got partnered with and how she was so excited to work with her. when they got to their next class, english, olivia finally told chloe the news. "HE WHAT!?" chloe yelled. the class turned to look at the both of you. "sorry, sorry, nothing to see here!" she apologized. olivia shook her head in defeat. "it's just to work on a project, chloe. nothing more, nothing less. besides, he doesn't like me like that anymore. we're over, chlo." olivia sighed. chloe placed her hand over olivia's, "you never know, olivia. there are things that may surprise you about john lennon." olivia looked confused but brushed it off when they were told to start their work. the rest of the day went by faster than any other. before olivia knew it, it was 2:30, and john was waiting outside of the school, smoking with his friends. john noticed olivia waiting on the wall opposite of him, paul, and george. "gotta go get my girl. see you lads tomorrow." john said as he stepped on his cigarette. george nodded as he kept talking to paul. "here goes nothing" john thought as he walked up to olivia.
