The plot starts from the current track where Mr. Bajaj and Prerna have moved into Basu Bari. Anurag is stunned to know that Kuki is Bajaj's daughter and now Prerna's too! All of his determination and revenge seemed to have been shaken up.

Kuki hugged Prerna fondly and Prerna seemed to reciprocate the same warmth and affection. Anurag always knew that Prerna liked kids very much but he hadn't expected this angle to the whole Bajaj fiasco. It shook him, it pained him to see a kid call her mom which was not theirs. He hadn't in his wildest nightmares imagined this situation which was now a reality staring at his face. His head spinned, he blinked rapidly and pursed his lips in a desperate attempt to stop his tears. Prerna wasn't unaware of his condition. With Kuki clad to her, standing in Basu Bari with her so-called family (Bajaj, masi and Tanvi) and seeing Anurag in this bad state left her feeling helpless. When she agreed to marry Bajaj, she knew that her life would be a living hell but she hadn't realized the extent of the pain.

It was only for a mere second that Anurag met her gaze and stormed out of the house. The hurt she saw in his eyes left her eyes moist too. Anurag drove in the streets of Kolkata aimlessly for hours, his mind clouded with thoughts of past and their dreams of togetherness. He finally parked his car overlooking the Howrah bridge - this place held so many memories of them. It felt like yesterday when they were here enjoying a fight over who could eat more puchkas and he had let her win realizing that she was overeating to defeat him. He looked at his hand - fingers entwined with hers, they would speak for hours, her eyes shone with happiness. What a bliss it was! His lips curled into a sloppy smile. Whenever she was around he felt every moment was magical. He hadn't known that he could love someone with this intensity till he had fallen hard for her. "Why why why Prerna.. why did you have to destroy it all??" It was for the umpteenth time that he was asking this question to himself without finding an answer. He looked towards the darkness of the sky which looked infinite and so did his pain. "Anurag". He could hear his name in her voice. He closed his eyes to shutdown imagining her. "Anurag!". This time the voice didn't seem to come from within him. He turned to look at the source of the voice. He saw her standing in a short distance fighting with herself to compose her emotions. When she had gathered herself a little she walked towards him and sat in the bench where he was sitting.

"Why have you come here now?" Anurag spat at her when she didn't speak for a while.

"Kyun kar rahe ho tum apne sath ye sab Anurag.. ghar me sab kitne pareshan h.. kaakima kitni pareshan h.. itni der raat ko tum yahan akele! Sab log kitni der se dhund rahe h tumko.." she didn't make any attempt to hide her worry this time.

"Aur tumko pata tha ki main yahan milunga?" He raised his brows.

She ignored his question and the smirk on his face. She was tired of fighting with him, hurting him and most of all wearing the mask of Mrs. Bajaj.

She just repeated herself. "Why are you doing this to yourself?"

He just sat back, both now looking at the beautifully lit Howrah bridge. "So kya karna chahiye tha mujhe?"

"Kya milega Anurag tumko ye sab karke.. ye revenge.. ye hatred" she turned towards him while he sat back still looking at the lights. "Vo banne ki koshish mat karo jo tum nahi ho.. apni achai is badle ki bhavna me mat kho do".

They both sat in silence for a while lost in their own turmoil.

"He destroyed my whole life. He stole the purpose of my living.. he stole you." The calmness with which he said this surprised not only her but also himself.

Prerna fell short of words. She didn't know what to tell him or rather what not to tell him. She finally spoke, "burai ko burai se nahi achai se hi jeet sakte h". Her eyes reflected hope while speaking - a rare occurrence these days. He was trying to figure out what she meant but before he could ask her anything further she hurriedly stood up and asked him to leave. He could see that her vulnerable moment was gone and she had again masked her emotions. They drove back silently taking comfort in each other's presence.
