i forgot i even wrote this whoops

Hermione had never fully understood all the rage around Quidditch. It was repetitive, and quite frankly, difficult.

She could confidently say she preferred sitting on the sidelines as her two best friends and the rest of the Weasley clan went at it in the Burrow's vast backyard. She had a book in hand, but her eyes flitted significantly more to the ruckus above her.

Ron was a brilliant flyer, and she wondered why he hadn't ever tried out for the team prior to sixth year. She knew it was likely due to fear of failure, which was quite understandable, really. It still would have been nice to watch him play, though.

Her eyes remained fixated on him, as he broke out into a grin as he blocked yet another Quaffle. She found herself grinning as well, hardly noticing when Harry sunk down to the garden chair she was sitting on.

"Boo!" He yelled, from behind, and Hermione gave a small shriek.

"You think you're so funny, don't you?" Hermione narrowed her eyes at him, once she'd regained her heart rate.

"Obviously," Harry laughed, and she rolled her eyes. "You seemed preoccupied, so I took the chance."

"Preoccupied?"

Harry raised an eyebrow, making her cheeks tinge pink. She huffed, opening her book to a random page.

"Not with the book," Harry said, still wearing that infuriating expression of knowing.

"I don't know what you're referring to- " she started, but Harry interrupted her with a sigh.

"Hermione..."

"Yes?"

"It's obvious."

"What's obvious?" Hermione squirmed in her seat uncomfortably.

"I know you're in love with him," Harry whispered, voice gentle.

She remained quiet, which seemed only to confirm his suspicion. She furrowed her brows in confusion as the messy haired boy beside her gave her a wide grin.

"What's so funny?" She asked, nudging him with her elbow.

"It's about time you admitted it."

"I haven't admitted a single thing, Harry James Potter."

"You haven't denied it either, Hermione Jean Granger," he responded teasingly. She couldn't help but laugh.

"Never you mind my love life," she said, giving him a look she hoped appeared scolding.

Judging by his look of amusement, it was anything but.

"You should tell him." Harry said, picking up his broom again. "Trust me. Maybe then he'll stop talking about you and I can go back to eating meals without wanting to throw up after seeing you two make eyes at each other."

"We do not make eyes!"
