I walked up the steps to Falcon Jr. High with dread. Another school, another temporary school. I quickly spotted the door that led to the office, and hurried inside. The place was empty except for an old lady sitting behind the desk.

"Hi, Im Ashley Waters. IM a new student" I approached the desk and smiled at the woman.

"Ah, yes. Here you go," she handed me a map of the school and my schedule.

"Thank you" I took the papers from her and was about to leave when she spoke up again.

"The school has also assigned someone to help you around for your first week here" before i could object she dialed a number on the phone and asked for a Michael Jets. I sighed and went to sit on the small chair in the corner.

The door opened about five minutes later and, i swear, the cutest guy walked in. He looked over at me and smiled.

"Are you Ashley Water?"  I nodded my head and he assed, "Im Michael. Nice to meet you"

I smiled at him and stood up. I followed him out of the office.

"Let me see your schedule" He stopped and turned around to face me. I handed him my schedule and he smiled. "We have every class together" I couldnt help but smile at this. We continued walking and eventually came to a stop infront of a classroom.

The room was small, and almost every desk was occupied with a student. After introducing myself to the teacher, he told me to take a seat anywhere. Like I said, not many options. The only empty desk was one in the back of the room. Fine with me, I liked sitting in the back.

After four classes, lunch finally came around. Michael and I had developed a good friendship by this time it seemed, and we were happily talking as we walked into the cafeteria.

"Come sit with my friends, Ashley" After we had gotten our food, he pulled me toward a table that held five people.

"Thats Anna, Sydnee, Johnny, Erik, and Adam." Michael introduced everybody and I sat down in between him and Johnny. Erik was perched at the end beside Johnny. Across from us were the others, Anna, Sydnee, and Adam.

"Thats all you got!?" Adam said, looking at the tray infront of me. It consisted of a fruit cup and a bottle of water.

"Yeah, Im not very hungry today" I was hungry, but not for this food.

The lunch bell rang and I got up, throwing away my uneaten fruit cup and half empty water.

My last period of the day was a free period, so I told Michael that I was going to go home. He almost looked sad.

"Please stay, I dont have any friends around right now," his blue eyes pleaded, and I finally agreed to stay. We ended up sitting on the grass of the empty field, talking. He told me all about how he loved sports, and the classes he hated, and the people that got annoying. It was nice, even though I know that becoming friends was a bad idea, i never interupted his constant chatter.

Maybe having a friend this time wouldnt be bad.
