YN POV

I looked behind me, the fire and smoke catching up to me. The heat burned my back as I kept running away from explosion.
'Come on come on' I thought, with sweat dripping down my face. My mask was cracked and my hood was burnt. I ripped off my hood as I had no need for that. What good is a hood that doesn't even have 80% of it intact?
"KILL THE NINJA!" I heard from behind me. Shards of ice flew past my head, and several spears barely missed my legs. Without even trying to think of a way out, I kept running though the forest, jumping from tree to tree, and slipping into bushes whenever I could. If I was going to die, I'm not going to die at a Lin Kuei temple. Or whatever is left of it after I set off a bomb there.
I kept running through the thick forest, trying to lose the Lin Kuei ninjas as the night sky helped me fall into the cover of darkness. The ninjas were losing track of me as I ran up a tree and jumped from tree to tree. Staying above them I could see where to go and where not to, and plotted my escape route. I jumped off my tree and ran to my left and zigzagged between the trees, throwing a fire bomb as far behind me as I could to throw them off. I hear their footsteps trail off and I hide behind a rock to catch my breath.
"Heh so much for being fierce warriors" I mumbled.
"What was that Scorpion?"
I look up and see that I'm face to face with their  grandmaster, Sub-Zero. Now under any normal circumstance, this would be normal, as it would be a circumstance that is normal for Sub-Zero and Scorpion to come face to face. However...
"You're not ready yet (YN). Hanzo still needs to teach you the art of stealth. That bomb you set off in the training arena wasn't deadly, but it was obvious it was you."
"Yeah yeah, I get it."
I stood up and looked at all the pissed Lin Kuei ninjas, all with ice weapons ready to execute me then and there. Studying under Sub-Zero was hard, he's all rules and learning and discipline. Back at the Shirai Ryu, it was training and fights and working out and... more fun.
"I looked forward to seeing your abilities as a ninja, word from Hanzo is that you're very talented with your fire."
I look at Sub-Zero as he gets his ice axe ready. I guess we're fighting. I look at my feet as my legs become engulfed in flames.
"Learnt from the best, the one true Scorpion"
I stepped back as the flames burnt the ground to a crisp and I let myself let loose. This was a fight I've always wanted.
"You first"mocked Sub-Zero.
I lunged at him with a right hook, to which he grabbed and ducked before elbowing me in the ribs. I felt a crack from how much force he used. I stepped back before realising how much he knows about me. He knows my moves to my attack pattern. I guess I have to switch it up. Jumping above him, I bring out my dagger to smash him, and as planned he would step back and go for a punish. Instead of trying to dodge or block it, I take the kick to my chest, but grab it at the same time and pull him towards me. As I'm on the ground, he falls with me and I punch his jaw, before teleporting behind him, and grabbing his leg while he's on the ground.
"What the f-"
I feel the ice around me encasing my legs as I notice he's freezing the ground. He falls into the ice and appears in front of me with a flying kick. It connects with my face as I use my rope spear to pull me further away from him.
"Fuck that was a hard hit" I whisper to myself.
"The best fights are the ones with respect on the line" Sub-Zero shouts at me.
I hesitantly get up and think of how to outsmart him, and I cannot think of any possible way. Unless I use some sort of cheap trick like summoning a demon or throwing dirt in his face. No... as much as I like fun, I don't condone unfair fights. I have to try and find a way.
"Careful, you're close to the edge, one wrong move and I could kick you off'" he warned.
I looked down and noticed I was at a cliff, and decided to not fall in. I moved closer to him as I watched for his move. He spoke loudly,
"Try not to die, this would be a bad image for Lin Kuei and it's truce with your clan."
"I know, keeping the peace" I replied.
My heart was pounding as I struggled to think of a way out. My hands started to loosen up as I became more and more worried. I think he noticed this as he started to move closer, keeping his stance but also beginning to form an ice spear. I decided that maybe I was faster and that would be my ticket out.
"Time for a light show" I said
I teleported behind him and yanked his axe from him before using it to sweep his legs, then delivered an axe kick down on him before moving back. I threw two fireballs at him before he could retaliate and then used the smoke from the fireballs to move in and kick him. My legs were engulfed in flames but it quickly died out as he caught my third kick and threw me away.
"Smart moves" he commented."Not many people can use their abilities as fast as that or use the whiffs to get in another strike."
I looked at what he meant and remember that he blocked my fireballs with both arms but the smoke from the contact with his ice gauntlets let me kick him. I gave no impression to him that I was going to be distracted from my goal. I am going to beat him.
"First one to call quits?" I asked.
"First to bleed" he replied, as he charged at me with his shoulder encased in ice.
I dashed at him with my sword ready and slashed at him. His armour took the impact but he still flinched and let me use my dagger to slice his arm. He knew I was going for a blow that would end the fight so he caught the blade and froze it before shattering it entirely.
"Not fair" I angrily mumbled.
I then used my sword as a spear and threw it at him which he dodged and threw back which sliced my leg open and made me bleed.
"Arggh shit... I guess I lost."
"Not bad fight however"
I knelt down as the pain from my leg was excruciating, and looked up to see Raiden with Sub-Zero
"Lord Raiden" the both of us said.
I got up and walked over to him and bowed with Sub-Zero as we greeted him.
"Hello Sub-Zero, Scorpion. I have news from the other worlds. We will have a sign of peace with the world of Remnant, a symbol to say we are ready to stand by them."
"What is that symbol?" asked Sub-Zero as we looked puzzled.
"Him."
Raiden pointed at me, with Sub-Zero still unsure of what he meant. I was confused by this but still remained quiet. I was in no position to question a god.
"(YN) here is young, and still learning. He will go to Remnant and live with them, as he is one of our greatest fighters, being with them will show we are willing to fight alongside them."
"Lord Raiden..." I began "with all due respect, am I really worthy of such a thing? Let alone, who would I get there?"
I did not think I was ready for this. Sure I can fight, but not as good as Sub-Zero or Liu Kang or any of them. They held if Shao Khan and even have Quan Chi a beat down. Hell, Cassie Cage should go, she fucked up Shinnok. Liu Kang should go too but he's the chosen one and has to stay here after fucking Kronika up. I wasn't ready, I barely know the full extent of my fire powers and I still need to train under three teachers. I don't want to keep General Blade or Master Bo Rai Cho waiting or else they'd send me to Hell.
"You're ready for this, and I'll take you there in a week (YN). I know you can do this" Raiden said as he teleported away.
"I guess you have your own job now Scorpion, and a tough one at that" remarked Sub-Zero.
"I know... I just hope I'm ready.."
