A Whole New World (okay, not the Aladdin version)

I got out of the taxi, payed the driver, and walked into my apartment. I set my backpack down by the door and went into the kitchen. On the counter I saw a letter adressed to none but myself, Sophie Rose Monet (moan - eh) from CPA! I ripped open the letter, saw the word ACCEPTED, and practically peed myself with excitement!!!!

Okay, so let me explain. About two months ago, I applied to a really prestigious performing arts school in California for dancing. I can't believe I actually got in! I would be attending as a junior, which is kinda scary because most of the kids there will have been attending since 9th grade. "Fuck it!" I said aloud, and ran to my room to begin packing, even though I wouldn't be leaving for 5 months.....

Wow, I cant believe this is really happening. I thought to myself. TODAY WAS THE DAY! I was attending the most prestigious performing arts school in the country!! I have always loved dancing, but I had no clue I was good enough to make it into CPA!! THE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL FOR PERFORMING ARTS! Holy shit. Me. Me! Just a nerdy girl from Michigan, going to school in LA. It was crazy, but also extremely nerve racking. Was I even going to fit in? As a JUNIOR?!

        My thoughts were rudely interupted. "SOPHIE!", I hear my mom yell from downstairs. I groaned and zipped up my suitcase. "COMING!".

I walked out of my room to see my mom and my dad, about to cry to see me leave. We said our goodbyes, and I walked out of our small apartment. When the door shut behind me, I turned around and glanced at what was now my old life. I sighed, one that was partially full of excitement but also remorse. But, I turned around and walked down to the sidewalk, pinching my lips together to call a taxi that would take me to the airport.

About 4 hours later, i FINALLY arrived in LA! I caught a taxi, and headed off to CPA. I looked out the window, in straight shock. I had never seen LA before, in fact, my small town in Michigan was practically it! But the strange thing was, I didn't feel homesick. Oddly enough, I felt completely AT home. Seeing the Hollywood sign, all of the tall buildings, the walk of fame, even all of the different people walking down the sidewalk, all who had dreams like me.

I felt the taxi slow to a stop and a kindly thanked the driver and paid him. I got out of the car and grabbed my bags, but I was pretty much at a loss of what to do next. I walked around the huge campus for a while, and oh gee was it beautiful! The buildings were made of gorgeous brick and stone covered in ivy, with green gardens and flowers scattered in between the sidewalks. There was a beautiful courtyard that I found, literally found. It was on the backside of a building (I have NO clue which one), hidden by large, curving trees. But inside there was a little pond with benches and gorgeous flowers everywhere! I knew I was going to spend my time there.

After I finally got the guts to ask someone where the office building was, I made my way over. Everyone there was kind of intimidating. It was seriously like a scene from Camp Rock, but at a SCHOOL! People singing, dancing, playing guitar, even improving all throughout the courtyards. I probably looked so out of place it wasn't even funny.

As I passed by what I believed to be the largest grassy field, I saw a group of people there. And not just ordinary people. Straight up GORGEOUS human beings. I caught myself staring. There were 4 boys, each with a girl wrapped under their arms. Correction, one of them had 2. He seemed to be the leader, with curly brown hair, blue eyes,  and a cheeky smile on his face. I could already tell that they were the "popular" group, AND that they would want nothing to do with me. I turned away, but felt SO compelled to turn around and stare at them. They put a spell over me, especially the head boy.

Suddenly someone bumped into me, causing me to break my stare. "Sorry, honey, I expected you to get out of the way". I glanced down to see he was riding a skate board. I helped him pick up the stuff he dropped, and as I gave it to him he whispered in my ear, "close your mouth sweetheart. You're drooling". I closed my mouth, embarrased. But before I had any time to respond, he was away on his skateboard.

"WAIT!" I yelled to him, running to meet him where he was. He stopped and turned around to face me. I stuck out my hand, "I'm Sophie". He shook it, and replied, "I'm Tre!" He had blonde hair, and nice green eyes. "Who are they?" I asked, finally getting out what I flagged him down to say. "The populars" he said. "Ugh, trust me, they have that affect on all of us. So don't be embarrassed!" I tilted my head at him. "Ya, I'm gay, so even less hope for me. At least your decent. I mean, I bet I could clean you up with SOME mascara, and possibly highlights?". I scoffed, but laughed at his bluntness. "Excuse me?" "Oh and you have a personality!This is going to be FUN!", he said. "What?", I replied. "Honey, the reason God brought us together is so I could save you! Well, I mean, I guess I'm deciding that right now. But it will be fun! Come on", he said with a pleading smile. I giggled, "okay?". And just like that, I had made my first friend at CPA.

Tre helped me with my lugage, and took me to the Dean to find my rooming accomidations. I'm honestly so glad I met him. Because he is hilarious! I found out he is in the school of design, so his is a "proffesional at makeup, hair, and fashion", as he likes to say. Once we got to the office, he put his contact in my phone under "The SAVER <3" because he was going to "save" me from my looks. But, nonetheless, I already knew I pretty much loved him.

~~~
"Tre!", I yelled into the phone.
"Seriously you already need me? I literally just left you like 30 minutes ago."
"I know, and I'm really sorry. But guess, the fuck, what."
"I'm listening, sweetheart, but hurry, I have a manicure in like 15."
I giggled, but then focused my mind to the point of the call, "the Dean said my rooming accomidations are all screwed up. Something happed with the system, and they are trying STILL to find me a roomate. They said it would take about 2 weeks. I know I just met you, but you are my only friend, and -
"OF COURSE YOU CAN ROOM WITH ME SOPH OMG PHASE ONE OF YOUR SAVING CAN START SOONER THAN EXPECTED"
I laughed hysterically at him. "Tre, thank you SO much I can't even begin. So where's your room?"
...
And just like that, the first day of my new life went. I made a comfortable bed on Tre's couch, went with him to his manicure, and ate some terrible spaghetti that he attempted to make for me. But most of all, we raided into the makeup storage at CPA and got me some makeup... Tre was pretty much experimenting with my face, oh and not to mention he went through all of my clothes and threw about half of it away. Tomorrow we are going shopping, courtesy of him. He said one day when I'm famous I can pay him back.... He was a handful.
But, I had a week until classes finally started. And 2 weeks until i FINALLY get a roomate.
Oh, goodness gracious, what have I gotten myself into?
{Hi guys! I hope you like it so far! And don't worry, the boys will be coming in in the next few chapters.... :) but, please leave comments and recommendations, it means a lot! Oh and don't forget to likeee..... :P }
