“That's always seemed so ridiculous to me, that people want to be around someone because they're pretty. It's like picking your breakfast cereals based on color instead of taste.”

One month ago
“ I don't know why we have to move.”, I said staring out the window as we drove.
“ I got a new job.”
“ Or you just want to be closer to Lilian.”, I mumbled
My mom sighed, “ I did get a new job you know, you can at least be happy.”
I turned to her, “ you want me to be happy, mom we moved seven times in the past year. How can I be happy?”
“ You can least show your happy or pretend to be.”
“ I have pretend to much already, I am tried of pretending.”
She sighed, she knew how I felt about this. We have been moving since dad died, just to be closer to my older sister. Lilian.
“ Riley.”
I didn’t answer, there is point in answering. We'll just fight, like we always do.
“ Riley, please, talk to me.”
Why should I talk, you never listen.
“ Talk to me sweetheart, please.”
Leave me alone.
She sighed and we drove in silence. I pulled out my I-pod and turned it to Never let me go by Florence and the machines. I closed my eyes and sat back.
And it's over
And I'm going under
But I'm not giving up
I'm just giving in
“ Riley.”, mom shook me, “ we're here.”
I looked up at our house, “ wait, this is our house.” The house was a old Victorian house. Vines crept up the house. It looked one of those horror movies.
“ I thought you liked new house?”
“ Well I thought I would get you treat.” she smiled at me, “ I know that we been moving a lot, and your right since you father died I been moving to be closer to your sister. I do love you, and I want you to know that.”
I nodded, at least she was trying. “ Why we go and take a look around.”
“ Okay.” I got out of the car and into the house. It was cooler inside, it was really old. The walls old, pictures hung on the walls. Pictures of men and women. The hallway dark, I smiled this is my kind of scene. I went ventured down the hall way. When I heard something move. I turned, and looked all around. I narrowed my eyes down the hallway left to me. This house is starting to get inserting. I walked down the hallway left to me.
“ Hello?”, I called out.
Oh nice going Riley, call out to a random thing. Please don't be a mean ghost, I really like this house.
“ RAWW!”
I Turned to find my sister.
“ Aw, come on I was scary.”
I kept a straight face, one thing you should know about me, I don't get scared. I never got scared at scary movies. You know that movie Annabelle. I still sleep with dolls.
