"You needed to speak with me?" I ask, trying to break the silence. She transforms into some gryphon type thing. I jump back, falling onto the floor just as the gryphon flies through the spot that I was standing. Lewis walks out of the room into the hallway which is somehow bigger than it was before. "Ariah!" he shouts. "Here! Take this, it'll help you kill this thing!" he shouts. He tosses her something. A sword? I catch it and realize that it's a sword. The gryphon flies towards me and I swing the sword. I look away just as the gryphon poofs into gold glittery dust. I look at Lewis for an explanation, who is grabbing my arms and pulling me up. "Wh-What was that thing?" I stammers. "It doesn't matter. C'mon. We HAVE to get out of here. Now." Lewis pulls my by my arm, half running, half walking. We get to my house. We run through the doors and suprise my mom and stepdad, who are sitting on the couch watching TV and reading books. "Wha-" Lewis cuts my stepdad off. "Ashley, we need a ride to camp. Now please. They have confirmed their supicions that Ariah is a half-blood. A gryphon just attacked her at school in the hallway." My mom nodded her head, like she understood and grabbed her car keys. We ran out of the door and got into the car downstairs in the garage. "Can someone please explain to me what's going on?" I ask while buckling my seatbelt. "Well Riyah, you're a demigod.. you know? Half mortal, half god. You have a scent that draws monsters to you. The scent can be deadly because if the monsters can smell your scent and confirm their suspicions about you being a demigod then they will attack you and a lot of the time, the demigod is unprepared and they die. That's why there are safe places for demigods where they train and are always protected. That's where we're taking you Riyah." Lewis explains. "So, what you're saying is.. Gods exist?" I ask. "Yes Riyah." Tyler says. "We're almost there." He tells my mother. "I know Tyler" she says quietly. We pull up to a feild with a house. It looks like a normal field but you'd be suprised. "It's just a field and an most likely empty house." I say. "Mist." he says. "What?" "Mist. It keeps mortals from seeing our camp. It keeps our camp safer since they can't see it. There's also a barrier that keeps mortals and monsters out." he explains. "Oh." I say stupidly. Me, my mom and Lewis get out of the car. "Do you want me to come in with you honey?" My mom asks me. "I thought you said that mortals couldn't enter." I say. She smiles at me. "I'm a demigod to Riyah" she tells me. My mouth falls open in shock. Apparently I look pretty funny because I hear someone laughing and turn to see Lewis dying of laughter. "Some of us are lucky enough to live this long." She says smiling. I recover from shock and look at Lewis again who has managed to stop laughing. "I-I'm fine mom, I'll go in with Lewis and I'll be fine... But thanks" I say. I manage a brave smile. "That's my girl" she says, hugging me so tightly it's hard to breath. "Can't... Breath" I manage. "Oops. Sorry" She says, giggling. I give her a hug and a kiss and head off into camp with Lewis.
