Little did Bella Swan know that when she made the decision to come back to the place she left behind 3 years ago, she'd be walking into a completely different situation. Once enemies pitted against each other are allied with one simple motive that makes everyone's lives a complicated mess of lies, confusion, and passion.
Summary: After the battle with the newborns, Bella became overwhelmed with the battle for her emotions and left Forks; including Edward, Jacob, the Cullens, and her father. After finishing college, she makes the decision to come back and tie up any loose ends, not expecting to get pulled into the mess that just may end her life as well as everyone around her. To her surprise, the Cullen have allied themselves with the La Push pack, this time to protect a common denominator; a half-breed with a coven of sadistic vampires tracking her that one of the wolves imprinted on.
Chapter one: Perplexity
As much as I loved everyone here, I hated staying in one set area for a long period of time and the chances of going stir-crazy myself were getting higher by the passing hours.
"I need something to do," I complained, plopping down on the couch beside Jacob. He chuckled, wrapping an arm around my shoulders.
"Well... I don't know. You could-"
I cut him off," I have watched more than enough television. I could live for 500 years and still never need to watch TV ever again. There's only so much a person can handle. Can't I go outside? Please?"
He frowned slightly and shook his head. "Not my orders, so I can't help you there. Sorry. I'm sure Emily would be fine with you going over there when I go on patrol in a little bit. Sam's making at least one of us stay with Emily, with her being pregnant and all, so you'll be fine over there."
I nodded, staring at the floor thoughtfully. "When's the next meeting with the Cullens?"
"Tomorrow night. And yes, you have to go."
I leaned over, laying down across his lap and stared at the ceiling. "I'm hungry."
"Didn't you just eat?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Nope," I replied, popping on the "p". "I had breakfast this morning, but it's almost two and I'm hungry again."
Before he could respond, the door burst open and Leah ran in. Her eyes were bright with excitement and I could tell that a gush fest was about to begin.
"You are never going to believe whose back," she said, sitting on the coffee table across from us. And not giving him enough time to respond, she continued. "Charlie just called my mom and I could hear the conversation."
Jacob's eyes went wide and he responded, "She's back?" His eyes were disbelieving and I could tell that whoever they were talking about, she was the last person he wanted to see. "Why is she back? If the Cullens told her anything..."
Leah sensed his rising temper and was quick to reassure him, "Don't worry, we've already contacted them and they were just as surprised as we were that she's back."
"So nobody knew?" Leah shook her head as her brother practically fell into the house.
"Hey, we've got a bit of a problem. You'll never guess who's at our house," Seth said in a rush.
Jacob grimaced," Oh I think I have an idea."
