"Carmen! wake up its time for school! " yelled her mother. She was already half awake but she just loved hearing her mother's voice every morning letting her know she's always there. "I'm up, I'm up" she hopped out of bed and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth, wash her face, and hop in the shower right quick as she did every morning . Once she was dressed she went downstairs to the kitchen where her breakfast was waiting for her. She gobbled down everything like she was starving and started my walk to her Best friends house up the block. They'd always walked to school together, and didn't care if it was raining, snowing, or whatever weather. As soon as she approached the door it swung open and out came her BestFriend Bianca. She gave her a hug and they started th walk . They lived in the rough parts of New York so they had to be careful, Day and night. "So what's new Bianca? I see you've dyed your hair over the weekend" "well I've always wanted something new, so this is it!" it looked great on her she thought so she just smiled and let her know that. They finally reached the school and of course all eyes were on them. She swore the school always made her feel like a celebrity for some reason. She didn't mind though, she actually enjoy the popularity. "Hey Carmen, Hey Bianca!" was all they heard walking through the halls they just smiled, waved an continued walking to class. Carmen loved all her teachers and enjoyed getting good grades making both her mother and herself happy. Once school was over she met back up with Bianca and decided to stop by the basketball court where alot of people from school and around their neighborhood hung out at. But today Carmen noticed a new crowd some older guys she'd never seen before so she figured she should just stick around the people they knew of course. They sat down on the bleachers and Carmen noticed a guy playing on the court doing his thang. She began watching his every move and she kept trying to get his face but he was too fast. Once the game was over both Carmen and Bianca got up to see who the mystery man was. They walked to the bottom of the bleachers and pretended to be interested in a conversation with some guy from school when Carmen felt someone tug a little on her t-shirt. She turned around and to her surprise it was him "Looking for me?" he asked. She smiled and felt her face getting red. "No actually I was talking to my friend here" she turned around and the guy wasn't there. "well to me it looks like you weren't talking to anyone" Now she knew her cheeks were red for sure. "well I actually was" she said and walked away.
