The thunder crackled outside, as Ms.Lincoln cradle some of the kids who grew terrified of loud 'Bang'. The babies wailed, and the kids whimpered, as another 'Boom' rang throughout the old home.

"Hush children, thunder is nothing to be terrified of. It will not hurt you, nor will it's brother." The women tried to reason, slowly regretting her life choices on taking the chore of raising orphans. One little girl quickly latched onto Ms. Lincoln and dug her face into the young woman's stomach.

"But, Ms. Lincoln it's still very scary," another little girl managed to get out before screaming as light flashed throughout the home, and the sound followed with. Ms.Lincoln just sighed, and tried to quiet down the children. Until two knocks were heard throughout the place.

'Who would be out there at a time like this,' Ms. Lincoln thought as she got up and went to the door, to see who was out there, 'Probably someone wishing to seek shelter,'. She opened the door, but saw no one, she looked from side to side, and down. There in a little basket was a little baby looking up at the woman with a curious expression. As if asking, "Who are you?" Ms. Lincoln stared down at the child. The baby had the tiniest bits of red hair, and was wrapped up in a worn out blanket. The little child had her eyes opened wide, and was babbling to itself. Her little blue eyes seemed to glow bright in the darkness. Next to the infant, there was a stitch stuffed animal, a little bit bigger than the child. There laid a note. The young woman bent down and picked up the note.

"Please take care of my little girl, my Blake, she was born on October 31st, born three months ago."

It wasn't signed. Ms. Lincoln finally came to her senses and picked up the child, out of the basket. Suddenly a strike of lightning followed by thunder could be seen and heard. She flinched waiting for the infant to cry, but instead heard little laughter from the child. Again, the woman looked around trying to find the young child's parents, but was met with darkness. She picked up the basket, and walked inside. With one last thought, 'What a strange baby,'.
