chapter 2

“Baby, can’t we just get out of here?” Sal- Selena, whatever her name is, purred in my ear.

“You can.”

“But I want to be with you daddy,” What?

“Love, if you want to be with your father then I’d happily put you on the next flight out of town. Now, as I said, you can go, but I have business I need to take care if you’ll excuse me.” I replied, my demeanor shifting in result of my impatience with this deal.

I left the girl alone and started to make my way to the VIP lounge. My employee, Doug, called few minutes prior informing me that he was ‘round town and he could give me the money I’ve been expecting for a while now.

As I pushed through the plethora of sweaty bodies, my eyes caught sight of the bar tender from earlier. I paused and observed her movements she was looking around for something… or someone. I don’t know what it was but something about her pissed me off but captivated me at the same time.

She has this look of over-confidence. I really hated those kinds of people, cocky, conceded assholes. The way she was acting towards Zayn, as if she could take down anything, I didn’t like that. I just hadn’t had the time to be messing around with security so I saved his and her asses.

But she was also so beautiful. She had these hazel eyes, but they were also green. Kind of like the wings of a dragon fly. Her hair were these beautiful corkscrew curls that fell just right above her cleavage. You could tell she was of a different race, I liked that. Something different. She had a fair amount of freckles, but they were quite cute.

It wasn’t until her eyes met mine when I realize I was still staring at her. With one last look I shook her out of my thoughts and made my way over to Doug.

I flicked my head toward the exit of the club and started walking. As he followed I could feel someone’s gaze on the back of my head. I turned slightly to see that girl staring at me. What did she want?

“What the fuck, man? Keep walking.” I looked down to see that my movements had halted. I started up again and headed towards the door.

“So, all fifteen grand, right?”

“Yep, it’s all there,” he stated. I looked at him oddly for he seemed to be panicked over something. He had been rolling on his heel and averting his gaze away from me like he was looking for someone.

“Hey, are you fucking high right now, man?”

He seemed taken aback by my calm words. “What? N-o?”

“Then what the fu-“ I was caught midsentence as I felt someone pound the back of my head, my arm blocking my fall. I looked up to see seven or eight largely built men staring down at me angrily. “What the hell! Who the fuck are you people?! Doug! What the fuck is going on!” I look up to the man with a sly smirk plastered on his face.
