Jack
"You okay baby?" Brook asks softly, fiddling with the tassels on my white hoodie as he cuddles up to me on my bed.
"Yeah, just nervous I guess." I mumble, running my hand through Brook's soft blond locks.
"It'll be fine." He says before placing a soft kiss on my lips and resting his head back on my chest.
I let out a deep sigh as silence falls around us. Today is going to be one of the most important days of the band, of our lives. Safe to say I am absolutely shitting it. There are so many things that could go wrong. This might be the end of RoadTrip. Or it may be the best thing that's happened to us and I don't know which scares me more.
Today is the day our new trailist comes.
A loud knock on the door drags me from my thoughts and back to reality.
"Are you decent?" Andy shouts through the door.
"Yes." I sigh, rolling my eyes as me and Brook sit up.
"Good." Andy responds as he swings the door open. "We're gonna start filming the intro to the vlog now, we'll be in the kitchen." He says before leaving again.
My stomach lurches. This is it. My heart begins to race and my palms begin to sweat.
"Hey, Jack look at me." Brook whispers, his hand under my chin, tilting my head to make me look at him.
"I'm scared." I breathe out shakily, the lump growing my my throat.
"I'm right here baby, I'm not going anywhere." He whispers before pressing a soft kiss against my lips.
His fingers lace with mine as he tugs me gently off the bed. We make our way downstairs and into the kitchen, seeing Rye and Andy in a deep discussion while Robbie talks to JJ. Brook's hand squeezes mine reassuringly before we let go, moving to sit on the kitchen counter as Robbie picks up the vlog camera.
The next half an hour is a blur. I can feel the nerves eating away at my insides. I just let Rye and Andy ramble on, explaining the whole process to the vlog. My finger traces the rim of the mug in my hands, the warmth of the tea calming me slightly. I hear Robbie make a quip about JJ being here and I remember I need to involve myself.
"Everyone thought he was gonna join the band, we couldn't let that happen." I laugh.
I sit quietly nodding along to Rye's words, occasionally sipping my tea until it was all gone. I slip off the counter and place my mug in the sink before returning to my spot between Brook and Rye. Rye starts taking about the timing of everything in regard to the band and the process.
"And the ball's already rolling, there's no point in stopping the band to, to-" I stutter, turning to Rye for help.
"I'm so with you man." He agrees, sounding quite sarky but the warm smile he gives me reassures me that it's going to be okay.
I go quite again, tugging the sleeves of my hoodie down over my hands. I chew on my bottom lip as my mind goes into overdrive, filled with so many questions and uncertainties. I keep glancing outside, waiting for the sound of a car pulling up.
"Are we actually gonna try and get the bit where we're like 'oh he's here!' " I ask once all the explanations are finished.
"That would be nice" Andy says, glancing at this phone.
The wait is agonising. It must have only been a few minutes before shouts of 'he's here' erupted but it felt like hours.
"Oh right, okay, cool, erm." I mumble along as I stand, awkwardly trying to figure out when to walk out.
