IVAN

Hey Guys, been a minute, but this your Boiz Royce, and I want to tell you, about my newest Family member, Ivan. When I met him, he was all in pieces. He told me, he had come from a home, with both Mother and his Dad. But everyday, he was getting hit , or slapped on. It all began, when he turned 15, and thought, he could be honest with his Parents, and tell them, he was gay. He tells me, up until then, he had a loving household. Being the only child, they adored him, and made sure, he had the best of the best. But that one afternoon, after School, all of that changed. His Dad, was the terror of the family. His whole demeanor went from, loving Family Man, to Ruler.

Not only did things change for him, but now, his Mother, was in constant fear as well. Whenever he would strike out at Ivan, if his Mom said a word, she would feel the wrath of his rage also. There would be days, he would go to School, with black and blue bruises, all over his body. He would try to dress, in ways, so no one would see the, but the pain, would be with him, everyday. Ivan said, he only had 6 more months, that he had to endure his Dad's beatings, before he could escape. He worried about his Mom, but she would tell him,

You go and take care of yourself, and I'll be alright, knowing you're free

Day after day, Ivan counted down the time, until he could put this whole nightmare, behind him. Each day, he would wonder what was going to happen, to his Mother, when he gone. If he would take up for his Mom, his dad's anger, would only escalate. He found out, the best thing to do for her, was to keep his mouth shut.

Finally, the day has come, when Ivan turns 17, the age, he is legally allowed to leave home, without permission.

And that's how things ended, at the home, he loved so much. He left a small town, with $50, in his pocket, and brought a ticket, to the closest city, he could find. Remember, Ivan already knows he's gay, so the city life, is going to be much different, from a small town, that the lights go out at 12am, even the signal lights, on the roadways. IVAN'S P.O.V.

Like Royce has told you, my Dad, really shocked me, when he turned his back on me, for me being, who I really am. It's as if, I didn't come from him. Whatever, that's behind me now. So let me tell you, the things, that has happened to me, in the City. When I got off of the bus, first of all, I didn't know where I was, or what it was, I was going to do, to survive. My bus arrived at the station, at 9pm. My mind was on pins and needles, wondering, where was I going to lay my head, for the night. It was kind of late, and very dark, so I knew, I had to figure it out soon, cause if this place, is anything like home, the were going to cut off the lights, very soon. Then after awhile, it hit me, it's after 12, and the lights are still booming, and there were people, still walking the streets. This was the first sign, that I was not back at home.

But I was tired, and wanted to find a place to get off of my feet. I didn't have nearly as money, as I needed, to get a hotel room. Now I had to put my small town mind to work. I remembered, when I got to the bus station, I saw people sitting in chairs, watching T.V, and some, were just sleeping, and I know, they stay open 24 hours. So I headed back there, and found me a seat, all alone. I know, I couldn't have been sleep that long, when I felt someone tapping me on my shoulder. I looked up, and it this random guy, telling me, to follow him into the restroom. I had no idea, what was going on, but I went.
